Comprehensive introduction of skilled immigrants in Singapore

Skilled immigrants in Singapore refer to those who apply for a work visa and obtain a work visa for permanent residence in Singapore, and obtain three categories: EP, SP and WP. It will be divided into three pieces for everyone to popularize. The first thing to introduce is the most advanced Employement Pass, which is EP.

It is a work visa for managers, senior professionals and special workers, and it is also the easiest way to obtain permanent residents.

According to the plan, applicants can apply for an employment permit of 1 to 2 years as long as they find a local employer in Singapore. The applicant can enter and leave the country indefinitely during his stay, and the permit can be extended as long as the applicant is still employed. Some family members of EP holders can apply for a family license (DPs). If the EP applicant is a woman, her unmarried children under 2 1 year old can apply for DPs at the same time, but her husband needs to apply separately. EP holders are not required to pay labor tax (Levy).

EP applicants need to have:

1) A standard monthly salary level,

2) Recognized university degree (there are also cases where a university degree is not needed, and academic qualifications, professional qualifications and professional skills will be comprehensively evaluated).

The occupation type meets the industry requirements of Singapore (the industry requirements will be introduced later)

EP is also divided into three categories according to income level, from low to high (SGD):

Q 1: SGD3000 or above.

P2:4500-8000 Singapore dollars

P 1: SGD8000 or above.

Compared with these three types of permits, holders of P 1 have the highest chance of permanent residence, followed by P2 and Q 1. In addition, the holders of these three permits have different rights when bringing their families:

P 1 The following relatives of the permit holder can apply for a dependant pass in Singapore: 1) Spouse 2) 2/kloc-0 unmarried children under the age of 0 or legally adopted children The following relatives can apply for a long-term social visit pass in Singapore: 1) cohabiting spouse 2) 2 1.

The following relatives of the P2 holder can apply for a relative permit:

1) spouse

2) Unmarried children under 21year old or legally adopted children.

The following relatives can apply for a Singapore long-term visit permit:

1) cohabiting spouse

2) Disabled children over 21year old

3) Stepchildren under 21year old

Q 1 Holders can only apply for a relative pass if their monthly salary is above S $4,000. Spouses, unmarried children under 2 1 and adopted children can apply for a relative pass. Any of his relatives may not apply for a long-term social permit.

The second is the intermediate SP.

Pass (SP) is a work visa issued by Singapore government to attract foreign technicians to work in Singapore. According to the plan, applicants can apply for a work permit of 1 to 2 years as long as they find a local employer in Singapore. The applicant can enter and leave the country indefinitely during his stay, and the permit can be extended as long as the applicant is still employed.

SP applicants need to have:

1) The salary is above S $2,000.

2) Have a college diploma or professional qualification.

3) The occupation type meets the industrial requirements of Singapore.

4) Relevant working years According to the newly revised law, SP holders can only apply for DP if their salary is above S $4,000 and their spouses and unmarried children are below 2 1 year old.

In addition, it is necessary to purchase SGD 1500/y medical insurance, pay labor tax (paid by the employer) and apply for SP license.

Note: The above industry requirements in Singapore include manufacturing, construction, health care, finance, information communication and digital media, tourism and retail. Special instructions:

1) Every year, the Singapore government issues quotas to employers to hire foreign citizens, and the quotas will be adjusted according to policies. At present, the quota shows an obvious downward trend.

2) When applying for a work visa, the above conditions are not absolute. In Singapore, the relationship between Chinese-dominated companies and the Immigration Bureau and the Human Resources Bureau is very important, and some human resources companies may have special evasive means.

The third is WP.

Work permit (WP) is an international employment permit, which is the lowest level and has the least chance of permanent residence. There are several points worth noting:

1)WP applicants have no minimum salary requirements and no education requirements.

2) No family member of 2)WP holder can apply for DP.

3) WP is required to pay labor tax SGD2 10-500 (paid by the employer).
