A short story about Xiguan
In the early years of Kangxi, as a supplement to the maritime ban, the Qing government implemented the policy of "moving the border" in the coastal areas of Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong. More than 10,000 people were forcibly moved from the Pearl River Estuary to the West Village and Pantang in Nanhai County-this figure is of great significance and far-reaching influence on the population composition of Xiguan in the future.
You know, the population of Nanhai County was only 90,000 at that time! 350 years later, this group of Tujia descendants can be called "Old Xiguan"! Fishermen in coastal areas make a living by fishing, but they are unemployed when they get a "Xiguan hukou". In order to fill their stomachs, they took chickens to the river to touch fish and shrimp, and went to the nearest Tianjin to be a ghost. There is a new market in the suburbs, which is called "immigrant city".
2. Stranger's XiGuan Thirteen Lines:
"The Fifth Master of Pan Lu" became the richest man in word of mouth and thirteen lines. The founders of these four families were born in poverty and developed into myths, and some Xiguan people mistakenly thought they were rural sages. In fact, Lujia is from Xinhui, Guangdong, and Panjia, Wujia and Yejia are from Fujian. Like those poor families, they are strangers who immigrated to Xiguan.
Seeing that the thirteen merchants got rich first, Xiguan indigenous people also got rich. Not everyone can do foreign trade, so the insiders climb to the side of the foreign trade car and open an export room for weaving. The profit of weaving industry is less, and the surrounding computer rooms are mushrooming. As a result, a large number of rural houses have been transformed into computer rooms, and contiguous buildings are becoming more and more deserted. When the aborigines washed their feet, Yong 'an and Joy fell apart.
When the "old and young" need to be equipped with wage earners, it is a perfect match made in heaven. Unemployed nerds are eager to be exploited, and their popularity outside the circle complements the men and women around them, so they are called "computer room boys". The competition in the labor market is fierce, and the losers become a "journey of no return". The best choice for the most unlucky person is to be a beggar. Xiguan Beggars' Sect has a prosperous lineup, and its base camp is around Hualin Temple.
Rogue proletarians are lawless, and the public security situation in Xiguan is grim. The authorities know how to do both. On the one hand, they set up a glittering Xiguan flood season, on the other hand, they set up a care and cultivation hall at the 18th National Congress. These two institutions are as famous as Embroidery Workshop and Anle Road in the history of Xiguan in the Song Dynasty.
3. xiguan big house Xiguan:
The characteristic of Xiguan is xiguan big house. Xiguan big house was the residence of merchants and rich gentry in old Guangzhou. Xiguan big house is mostly a brick-wood structure, with green masonry feet and granite embedded in the front door. Its plane layout is basically developed in the depth direction according to the traditional main hall form of the Central Plains. Its typical plane is three rooms and two corridors; Symmetrical left and right, with the main hall in the center.
On the left side of the front of both sides are the study and yard, and on the right side are the slant hall and guest room. The guest room has a flat roof, which is used for enjoying the cool in Xiguan Tanabata, enjoying the moon and visiting Yue Bai (Seventh Sister). Behind the slant hall and guest room are bedrooms, kitchens, etc. Flowers and trees are planted in the park, and a rockery fish pond is built, which is quite elegant and quiet.
4. The lion roar in Xiguan myths and legends.
According to legend, during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, there were ponds and pools in Chenjiaci Fujian. One year, when a flood disaster occurred, the water level kept rising, people's houses collapsed and some people died. Late at night, the stone lion in front of the temple gave a roar.
The next morning, all the floods had subsided. Since then, there has never been a flood in Chenjiaci area. People say that Shishi drinks all the water, so they regard Shishi as a "sacred lion" and say that it is a sign of "good luck".
5. White Goose Lake in Xiguan myths and legends:
According to legend, in the 14th year of Ming Dynasty (1449), Huang Xiaoyang led the peasant uprising in the Pearl River Delta. The insurgents attacked Zhou Ke Group and won many victories. When the warship arrived at today's White Swan Pond, a white goose suddenly appeared on the river, leading the warship of the rebel army to move forward quickly and head for Guangzhou.
Later, the uprising army was suppressed by the Ming Dynasty, and Huang Xiao's troops were defeated and retreated to the White Swan Pond. At the moment when there was no way to go, the white goose suddenly swam from the middle of the river, flapping its wings, shouldering Huang Xiao's wings and flying to the middle of the river until it disappeared. Since then, this place has left the beautiful name of White Swan Pool.
