Personally, I think that before anyone criticizes Singaporeans' English, they need to understand Singapore's demographic structure and social environment.

In the general living environment of Singapore, Singaporeans generally speak less grammar and language. Many times, you can mix several languages and speak them together.

Everywhere, their mother tongue will gradually evolve. Even in America, there must be some local dialect that foreigners can't understand. Every province in China has its own dialect.

The example given on the second floor is a mixture of English and Malay. After a long period of communication, Chinese and Malays in Singapore will absorb each other's language and writing. This has become a unique language habit of Singaporeans. Any Singaporean who studies or works abroad can easily identify who is a Singaporean among the people around him.

If the China people who leave a message here have a company in Singapore, they will know that there is no problem for Singaporeans to communicate with people from Europe and the United States.

If we only communicate with low-level people in Singapore, we can conclude that Singaporeans have poor English and can only "touch the elephant with the blind". Touching the tail and saying that an elephant is like a rope will make real Singaporeans laugh.

I didn't expect all China people who come to Singapore to bring WP. Don't impose words on me. I used to work in Motorola and have been to America many times. In Motorola, there are many China people, all of whom have doctoral degrees and master's degrees. One of them is a doctor from NUS. A group of us went to America together. Those Americans didn't understand this doctor's English, and they all needed us to do some voluntary translation. I can tell you that even Americans know that Singaporeans' English is YA LA and NO LA, but this does not affect our communication with them.

Yala and Bula have become a special language for Singaporeans. When I talked to Motorola colleagues in Britain and Germany, they all said that as soon as I heard this sentence, I could know that someone was Singaporean.
