Today, we tell about the migration of European immigrants in the northeastern United States. We told how the independent colonies in this area developed.

Voice one:

Puritans are one of the largest groups from England. They settled in Massachusetts in the northeast. They began to arrive in130s of the 6th century. The Puritans founded the Massachusetts Bay Company in England. The king gave the company a piece of land between the Charles River and the Merrimack River.

Puritans are one of the largest groups of British immigrants in northeast North America (now Massachusetts). Puritans began to arrive in succession in 1630. They set up the Massachusetts Bay Company in England. The king of England gave them land from the Charles River to the Merrimack River.

Puritans are Protestants who disagree with the Anglican Church. The Puritans wanted to change the church and make it more sacred. They can live as they please in Massachusetts. Soon they became the largest religious group. By 1690, there were 50,000 people living in Massachusetts.

Puritans are also Protestants, but they don't agree with the Anglican Church and want to reform it, so they decided to leave England. After settling in the New World, they can live according to their own wishes and gradually develop into the largest religious group. By 1690, there are already 50,000 people in Massachusetts.

Puritans believe that their religion is the only true religion, and everyone should believe in it. They also believe that church leaders should lead local governments, and everyone in the colonies should pay for the Puritan church. Puritans thought it was the job of government leaders to tell people what to believe.

Puritans believe that their religion is the only pure religion, and all people should become believers. At the same time, they advocated that church leaders should be local officials, and everyone in the colony should pay for the church. They think that one of the duties of government officials is to tell people what to believe.

Some people don't agree that Puritans become leaders of colonies. A Puritan priest named roger williams disagreed.

However, some people do not agree with these Puritans who became colonial leaders, Roger &; Reverend middot Williams is one of them.

Voice 2:

Roger williams, like all Puritans, believed that other European religions were wrong. He believes that India's indigenous religion is also wrong. But he doesn't believe in trying to force others to agree with him. He thinks it is a sin to punish or kill anyone in the name of Christianity. He believes that only church members should pay for their church.

Like all Puritans, Roger &; Middot Williams also thinks that other religions in Europe are wrong, and so are the beliefs of Indian aborigines, but he does not agree to force others to accept his own views. He believes that it is a sin to punish or kill people in the name of Christianity, and only church members have the obligation to support the church.

Roger williams began to talk and write about his ideas. He wrote a book saying that it is wrong to punish people with different beliefs. Then he said that European colonists were stealing Indian land. He said that the king of England has no right to allow people to settle on land that does not belong to him, but belongs to Indians.

Roger middot Williams publicizes his views through speeches and articles. He wrote a book, pointing out that it is wrong to punish others because of different beliefs. He also pointed out that European settlers are stealing Indian land, and the king of England has no right to distribute the land belonging to Indians to his subjects and let them settle there.

The Puritan leader of the Massachusetts Bay colony forced roger williams to leave the colony in 1636. He went to the south. He bought land from local Indians and founded a city, Providence. The British Parliament allowed him to establish a new colony, Rhode Island, with Providence as its capital. As a colony, Rhode Island accepts people of various religious beliefs, including Catholics, Quakers, Jews and even those who deny the existence of God.

Under the pressure of Puritan leaders in Massachusetts Bay colony, Roger &; Middot Williams left Massachusetts for the south on 1636. He bought a piece of land from the local Indians and established a new city called Providence. The British Parliament authorized him to establish a new colony, Rhode Island, with Providence as its capital. This colony accepts people of all religious beliefs, including Catholics, Quakers, Jews and even atheists.

Roger williams also believes that the government should not have anything to do with the church. The idea of separation of church and state is very novel. Later, it became one of the most important governing ideas in the United States.

Roger middot Williams also believed in the separation of church and state, which gradually developed into one of the most important governing ideas in the United States.

Voice one:

Other colonies were founded by people who left Massachusetts in search of land. One is Connecticut. 1636, a group led by the Puritan minister Thomas Hooke left Boston and headed west. They settled near the Connecticut River. Others soon joined them.

Many people left Massachusetts for land and established other colonies, and Connecticut was one of them. Some of the Puritans, Father Thomas &; Middot Hook left Boston for the west on 1636 and settled near the Connecticut River.

Other groups from Massachusetts moved north to find new homes. The king of England gave two friends a large piece of land in the north. Friends divided it up. John Mei Sen occupied what became a colony of New Hampshire. Ferdinando Canyon occupied what would later become Maine. However, it never became a colony. It was part of Massachusetts until the founding of the United States.

Others build houses in northern Massachusetts. The king of England gave a large area of land in the north to two good friends. Mei Sen established the later New Hampshire colony and Gogis established the later Maine, but Maine never developed into an independent colony and remained a part of Massachusetts until the founding of the United States.

Voice 2:

The area called New York State today was settled by the Dutch. They call it the new Holland. Their country is Holland. This is a world power with colonies all over the world. A company called Dutch West India Company owns most of the colonies.

Dutch colonists settled in what is now new york, USA. They called it New Holland. At that time, the Netherlands was powerful and established colonies in many parts of the world, most of which belonged to&; Ldquo Dutch West India Company &; Rdquo all.

The Dutch claimed that the land in the United States was due to the exploration of henry hudson, an Englishman who worked for the Netherlands. The land claimed by the Dutch lies between the Puritans in the north and the Anglican tobacco farmers in the south.

The land occupied by the Dutch on the North American continent is attributed to the British explorer Henry &; Middot Hudson Dutch territory lies between Puritans in the north and Anglican tobacco growers in the south.

The Dutch are not interested in developing this territory. They want to make money. The Dutch West India Company established a trading post on the river claimed by the Netherlands. Europeans want to buy goods made from the skins of animals trapped there. 1626, the Dutch West India Company bought two islands from local Indians. These islands are Manhattan Island and Long Island. According to the traditional story, the Dutch bought these islands with trade goods worth about $24.

The Dutch don't want to settle in this land, they just want to make money. The Dutch West India Company established many trading posts along the waterway and bought two islands from local Indians in 1626, namely Manhattan Island and Long Island today. It is said that these two islands were exchanged for something worth about $24.

The Dutch West India Company tried to find people to settle in the United States. But few Dutch people want to leave Europe. So this colony welcomes people from other colonies and other countries. These people built a town on Manhattan Island. They call it the new Amsterdam. Soon it was crowded with people coming by boat from far away places. It is said that you can hear as many as 18 different languages in New Amsterdam.

The Dutch West India Company hopes to find someone to settle on the island, but the Dutch are unwilling to leave Europe, so the Dutch colony is open to people from other countries and other colonies. They established a small town called New Amsterdam on Manhattan Island. Soon, it was crowded with people coming by boat from far away. It is said that 18 different languages can be heard in New Amsterdam.

1655, the new Dutch governor took control of the Swedish colony near Delaware Bay. In 1664, the British did the same thing to the Dutch. The British took control of New Amsterdam and called it new york. This ended the Dutch control of what is now New York, New Jersey and Delaware.

1655, the governor of the new Dutch colony occupied a Swedish colony in the nearby Delaware Bay. 1664, New Amsterdam was occupied by the British and renamed new york, ending the Dutch colonial control over new york, New Jersey and Delaware.

Voice one:

Most Dutch people in New Amsterdam didn't leave. The British allow everyone to stay. They gave the Dutch religious freedom. The Dutch can no longer control it.

But the British allowed the former colonists to stay and enjoy religious freedom, so most Dutch people did not leave.

The Duke of York now owns this area. He is the brother of King charles ii of England. The king divided some land near new york between two friends, Sir george carter Wright and Lord John Berkeley. They call it New Jersey, named after the English island where Cartwright was born.

The colony was then owned by the Earl of York, the brother of King charles ii of England. Charles ii also gave the land near new york to two good friends, Sir Cartwright and Lord Berkeley. They call it New Jersey. New Jersey is an island in England, where Sir Cartwright was born.

The two men wrote a government plan for their colony. It created a parliament representing settlers. It provides for freedom of religion. No matter what they believe in, I can vote in New Jersey. Soon, people from all over Europe lived in New Jersey. Then King Charles took control of the area. He sent a royal governor to rule. But Colocolists are allowed to make their own laws through the elected parliament.

Sir Cartwright and Lord Berkeley made a government plan to govern New Jersey, and set up a meeting of settlers' representatives to ensure religious freedom, and everyone had the right to vote, regardless of their religious beliefs. Soon, New Jersey colonies were crowded with immigrants from all over Europe. King Charles later took over the area and sent a royal governor to rule, but the local colonists could legislate on their own through the representative meeting.

The king of England did this in every colony he controlled. He taxed the people who lived there, but allowed them autonomy.

The king of England made similar arrangements for all his colonies, requiring them to pay taxes, but allowing them to be autonomous.

Voice 2:

An unpopular religious group in Britain is Quakers. Quakers call themselves friends. They believe that everyone has an inner light that leads them to God. Quakers think they don't need religious leaders to tell them what is right. So, they have no clergy.

Quakers are very ostracized in Britain. They call themselves Quakers and believe that there is a bright light in everyone's heart to guide them to God. They don't think it is necessary for religious leaders to tell everyone what is right, so Quakers have no priests.

Quakers believe that all people are equal. Quakers in England refused to admit that the king was more important than anyone else. They also refused to pay taxes to support the Anglican Church. Quakers believe that killing is always wrong. So even if they are forced to join the army, they will not go to war. They also refused to pledge allegiance to the king, the government, the flag or anyone except God.

Quakers believe that all men are created equal and refuse to recognize the superiority of the king of England and pay taxes to support the Anglican Church. They believe that killing people is wrong under any circumstances, so they will not use force even if they are forced to join the army. They also refused to swear allegiance to the king, the government, the national flag or anyone except God.

For all these reasons, the British don't like Quakers. Many Quakers want to leave England, but they are not welcome in most American colonies. A Quaker changed that. His name is william penn.

For all these reasons, the British don't like Quakers. Many Quakers want to leave England, but they are not welcome in many American colonies. A man named William &; Middot Pan's Quaker Club changed all this.

Voice one:

William penn was not born a Quaker. He became a lawyer when he was young. His father is an Anglican and a good friend of the king.

William & Middotte; Pan's father is a good friend of King Charles and an Anglican, but William &; Middot Pan converted to Quakers when he grew up.

King Charles borrowed money from William's father. When his father died, william penn asked for American land to pay off his debts. In 168 1 year, the king gave william penn a piece of land, and the king's committee named it Pennsylvania, which means Penn Woods.

King Charles once told William &; Middot Pan's father borrowed money. After his father died, William &; Middot Pan asked the king to use the land on the American continent to pay his debts. 168 1 year, King Charles gave Pennsylvania to William & middot Pan. This land is named Pennsylvania. Pan's woodland? .

Quakers now have their own colonies. This is a struggle between Puritans in the north and Anglicans in the south. William penn said that this colony should be a place where everyone can live according to Quaker ideas. This means treating all people equally and respecting all religions. This also means that anyone can be elected. In most other colonies, people can believe in any religion, but they can't vote or hold public office unless they are members of most churches. All religions are equal in Pennsylvania.

Therefore, Quakers will have their own colonies. The colony is sandwiched between Puritans in the north and Anglicans in the south. William & Middotte; Pan said that everyone in Pennsylvania should live according to Quaker beliefs, which means treating everyone equally and respecting all religious beliefs. In other colonies, although people enjoy freedom of religious belief, only members of most churches can vote or be elected to public office. In Pennsylvania, all religions are equal, and people of all sects can be government officials.
