What is the National Visa Center (NVC)?
When the Immigration Bureau approves the immigration application, if the beneficiary is overseas, the Immigration Bureau will transfer all the files of the beneficiary to NVC. After the file is transferred to NVC, it will be put on hold in NVC for several months to several years according to its application category and timetable.
No, wait. If the beneficiary belongs to a category that does not need to be scheduled (such as a citizen applying for a spouse, parents or minor children) or the beneficiary is scheduled soon, relevant materials will be sent to Chen Ai-ren or Chen Ai-ren's attorney.
Generally speaking, NVC processing procedures are as follows:
1. Send the financial guarantee approval fee bill (I-864) and beneficiary's designated agent form (DS-3032) to Chen or his agent.
2. After paying the examination and approval fee for the economic guarantee, the format of the economic guarantee and relevant explanatory materials will be sent to Chen or his attorney.
3. After receiving the designated agent form (DS-3032) signed by the beneficiary, NVC will send the bill of immigrant visa application fee (USD 335 per person) to the agent designated by the beneficiary.
4. After the immigrant visa fee is paid, NVC will send the background form (DS-230PartI) of the immigrant applicant and related explanatory materials to the designated agent.
5. After the financial guarantee and the first part of the DS-230 form are verified by NVC, the documents will be transferred to the consulate in the beneficiary's area (all immigration applications from China will be transferred to the US consulate in Guangzhou).
As can be seen from the above, before the immigration application is transferred to the overseas consulate, the applicant must pay off the financial guarantee approval fee and the immigration visa application fee at the National Visa Center (that is, the NVC stage), and NVC will complete the approval of the financial guarantee (I-864) and the first part of the DS-230 form. In other words, only after NVC has completed all the above procedures can the applicant go through the next immigration application procedure at the overseas consulate.
In addition, during the long waiting time, the change of Chen's lover or beneficiary's situation will have an extremely important impact on the whole application. For example, Chen's lover changed from a green card to a citizen application, the beneficiary changed from single to married, with children or from married to divorced, and Chen's lover or beneficiary changed his address or agent. How to notify these changes in time, and whether to notify the immigration bureau, NVC or consulate? These are all issues that applicants need to pay attention to and understand during the application process.
