1. 6. Go to the immigration physical examination waiting hall on the sixth floor of the outpatient clinic at 8 a.m. according to the appointment time. Go to the appointment window number first, and then sit down according to the seating order after being numbered by the physical examination nurse. When calling for registration, please present your passport/ID card, signed appointment form, medical card, physical examination form, and 2 photos.
7. If you have a medical history (such as surgery, hepatitis, tuberculosis, etc.), please bring your medical records. If you take medicines for a long time, please bring the medicine instructions. For myopia patients, please wear appropriate glasses (do not wear contact lenses) to achieve the best corrected vision. Please do not bring gold, silver, jade, necklaces and other jewelry, and wear thin cotton underwear in preparation for the chest X-ray. 8. Family members of persons undergoing physical examination are not allowed to enter the physical examination area. Please abide by this consciously.
9. Under normal circumstances, the physical examination takes one day. Due to the large number of people undergoing physical examination, some examination items require waiting in line. Please understand.
Why are there health requirements?
Australia enjoys some of the highest health standards in the world. To maintain these standards, all visa applicants must meet the health requirements set out in the Immigration Act before being granted a visa to Australia.
Who needs a health check-up?
Any person who will travel to Australia may be required to undergo a physical examination and/or Chest X-ray.
If the applicant is over 11 years old and plans to stay in Australia for 3 to 12 months, a chest X-ray is required.
If the applicant plans to stay in Australia for more than (including) 12 months, a full body examination and chest X-ray examination are required.
Special Circumstances
All applicants aged 70 and above must undergo a full body examination regardless of the length of visit. If the visit lasts longer than 3 months, a chest X-ray will be required at the same time.
If the applicant is likely to need to enter an Australian hospital, health care center, classroom, or child care center, or if the applicant is a parent immigration applicant who is waiting in line, he or she will be required to undergo a full body examination. and/or chest X-ray.
Process of review
If an application is likely to be approved, the visa office will contact the applicant within 10 working days after receiving the application (excluding student visa), requesting They receive the medical examination form and go to an accredited hospital for a physical examination. The doctor then sends the results of the physical examination directly to the visa office. If any health risks are discovered during the examination, the visa office must send the results to the Australian Health Assessment Service (HAS) for further advice. The visa office is required by law to accept the opinion of the Australian Health Assessment Service as to whether the applicant meets the health requirements. HAS may require applicants to undergo further medical examination before issuing a visa.
The impact of physical examination on visa application processing time
If a full-body examination and/or chest X-ray is required, the visa office will do so within 10 working days after receiving the application. Contact the applicant. It is the applicant's responsibility to undergo the required medical examination as soon as possible.
If the visa office needs to send the medical examination results to HAS, it will take about 4 weeks to receive HAS’s opinion. HAS may require applicants to undergo further medical examinations, which will further lengthen the application processing time.
49 days response time
For the first physical examination, the physical examination results must be within 49 days after receiving the physical examination notice (from the date signed on the physical examination letter, student visa application from PVA calculated from the date signed on the letter) and delivered to the visa office.
If required for further medical examination, the applicant must go to the same hospital for the first physical examination within 49 days after receiving the notification (from the date signed on the physical examination letter), and the examination When the results will be available depends on the content of the examination.
The hospital is a designated hospital for physical examination designated by the Australian Embassy. Applicants must undergo a physical examination at one of the hospitals.
