The Origin of Zhutuo River

Zhu Tuo Town enjoys a beautiful environment, abundant resources, convenient transportation and a long history, and enjoys the reputation of being the first town in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River.

Tang Gaozu Wude county was established here in the third year (AD 620), with a history of 1300 years. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Huguang filled Sichuan, and there were many Zhu surnames among the immigrants. Because of the backwater of the Yangtze River (now Laojie in Zhu Tuo Town to Handong Village), this place began to be called Zhujiatuo, or Zhu Tuo for short.

Zhu Tuo is located on the bank of the Yangtze River in the south of Yongchuan District, Chongqing. It is a commercial town at the junction of Yongchuan District, jiangjin district, Lu Xian County and Hejiang County in Sichuan Province. The golden waterway of the Yangtze River flows through the town 15 km, with convenient land and water transportation. It is an important port for opening to the outside world in western Chongqing.

By 20 16, Zhu Tuo will have built a new town of Gangqiao Town with an area of 20 square kilometers (including 5 square kilometers in the urban area) and an urban population of 60,000. Zhu Tuo will become a riverside town in Yongchuan and a "beautiful, rich and happy" pearl along the river.
