Baihetan Hydropower Station is located in the lower reaches of Jinsha River, at the junction of Dazhai Town, Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province and ningnan county Town, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The upstream is connected with Wudongde cascade hydropower station, and the downstream tail water is connected with Xiluodu cascade hydropower station.

It is the second stage of the four-stage development of the lower reaches of Jinsha River (Yalong River mouth to Yibin), about 22 kilometers away from Ningnan County.
