Fujian Shaowufu immigrants

Fujian is called "Min" for short, which originally means ethnic group. There are two main opinions about Fujian's abbreviation "Bamin".

1 is related to the number of administrative districts in Fujian history. As early as the Tang Dynasty, Fujian was five states, namely Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Zhangzhou, Jianzhou and Tingzhou. By the time of the Northern Song Dynasty, Fujian had evolved into six countries, and two armies were added, the improvisation army and Shao.

The Yuan Dynasty was changed to "Dao", which is equivalent to the current prefecture-level city. There are eight roads in Fujian, namely Fuzhou Road, Xinghua Road, Zhangzhou Road, Quanzhou Road, Jianzhou Road, Yanping Road, Tingzhou Road and Shaowu Road.

In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the number of states increased again, and in Qing Dynasty, it increased to 1 1 state. However, when counting "Fujian", the state was not included, and only the number of "Fufu" was counted. After Yongzheng, Fujian was also called "Ten Houses", but this spread did not last long.

Although Fujian is known as Kyushu 12 state in history, people are most impressed by the Song Dynasty, which is the "eight provinces" of Fujian because of its greatest influence. Over time, Fujian has gradually been called "Eight Min".

But before the Qin Dynasty, Fujian was called "Seven Min" mainly because there were seven big tribes in the past. After crossing extinction, the surviving Vietnamese immigrated to Fujian and merged with Qi Min aborigines. Later, "Qi Min" slowly refers to Fujian.

Until 985 AD, Song Taizong established six states and two armies, which continued until the Southern Song Dynasty. Fujian was called "Eight Min", which is still in use today.

2. Another way of saying it is that "Bamin" refers to the eight most popular names, namely, Lin, Chen, Huang, Qiu, He, Hu, Zheng and Zhan. They did a lot of great things in Fujian, where they took root and sprouted to continue their descendants, so they were called "Bamin".
