Then Beidou was attacked by floods and Huilu, and the channel of Dongluoxi changed, which finally dispersed the splendid scene of Beidou Street.

During the Japanese occupation, Beidou was the administrative and economic center of one street and seven villages in Beidou County. Beidou has changed from a completely commercial function to a city with both commercial and administrative functions. During the Japanese occupation, Beidou was said to have "three members": one was the police, and Beidou was the administrative center with many guards. The third one is meatballs. Beidou's meatballs have always been a traditional dish of Beidou and have a certain popularity in the local area. Although Beidou has the blessing of administrative function, it is unfavorable in other aspects. The river between Beidou and Xiluo is too wide, so it did not pass through Beidou in the original planning, and the railway running through Beidou is considered as the main reason for the unfavorable development. Compared with the cities developed after the opening of the railway running through Beidou, Beidou failed to catch up with this trend. Most obviously, in the field adjacent to Beidou, Beidou's transshipment function has been developed in a decentralized way. In addition to traffic factors, the industry during the Japanese occupation period was also one of the reasons why Beidou was not as developed as other streets and villages in Changhua. At the same time, the beauty of Changhua County started with textiles, West Lake, Erlin and Xizhou started with sugar industry, and plantations developed with pineapple industry, but Beidou lacked industrial assistance. Take Beidou and Yuanlin as examples. In the early days of Japanese occupation, Beidou was the largest street village in Nanzhang. After 1925, the population of garden street surpassed Beidou, and the gap became wider and wider.

In the early days of recovery, Beidou was an index business circle under the Beidou District Department of Taichung County. Later, the regional departments and units were cancelled, and the administrative function of Beidou was lost. Later, West Luo Qiao promoted the development of Beidou in Berry for a period of time, but the Zhongshan Road built later passed through the neighboring Shantou, but the Beidou Interchange was not completed until 2002. Today, it is still the commercial center of four towns in Beidou area; Due to the small administrative area, the population of bei dou zhen ranks only 18 in the county, but the population density ranks seventh in the county.

During the Japanese occupation, sugar and iron were managed, and the old name was Baodou. This water once belonged to Dongluo. That's a river port on a tributary of Dushuixi, and there are ships coming and going with the mainland. Therefore, it is an important place in the south of Changhua County. At the end of Qing dynasty, there were bamboo fences and narrow doors around. The dye house and sugar factory in the fence are thriving, second only to Lugang. Therefore, "one house, two deer and three" appeared in the local area. The original place name of bei dou zhen was Dongluo, and the earliest market was Laoshexian Village, which was built on the south bank of Dongluo River in the third year of Qianlong (AD 1738), which is now Laomei in Xizhou Township. In the 11th year of Jiaqing (AD 1806), due to the fierce war in Zhang Quan, all the houses and fields in the old market were destroyed. In the first year of Daoguang (AD 182 1), another market was built in Baodou Village, Hezhou, and it was changed to Baodou. Because there are six doors in Yunlin County in the south, we took the astrological meaning of "Southern Six-Star Beidou" and changed it to Beidou.
