Historical activities of Dongtou Islands

There were human activities in Dongtou Islands as early as 4000 years ago. According to relevant records, Dongtou Island was called "Zhongjie Mountain" in ancient times. Dongtou belonged to Yongjia County in the Southern and Northern Dynasties. In 423 AD, Yan Yanzhi took over as Xie Lingyun, the prefect of Yongjia. He visited damen island by boat and built a "Sea Pavilion" on the island to enjoy the sea view. It has been over 1580 years, and Yan Yanzhi can be said to be the first person to discover the tourism resources in Dongtou. Dongtou in Tang, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties belongs to Lecheng County, Wenzhou. In the meantime, in order to resist the Japanese invaders in the early Ming Dynasty and to guard against the coastal anti-Qing struggle in the early Qing Dynasty, the "sea ban" was implemented twice.
