Fengdu, this word may not make people think of where it is. But it usually appears together with another word to form a place name that can be said to be famous at all times and at home and abroad: Fengdu Ghost Town.

Fengdu Ghost Town is located in Fengdu County, more than 100 kilometers downstream of the Yangtze River in Chongqing. It usually takes about 2 hours to drive from the main city, along the highway along the Yangtze River, and through Fuling District. From the "Bazi Biedu" in the Spring and Autumn Period to the official establishment of Fengdu County in the Han Dynasty, the cultural accumulation over thousands of years has integrated Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism.

After the Three Gorges Migration, the old county seat of Fengdu has been gathering dust at the bottom of the Yangtze River. People lived on the other side and built new urban areas. There is a sculpture of Bai Wuchang at the gate, and the ticket office at the gate is not much different from other scenic spots. It’s just that the newly built portrait of Emperor Fengdu on the top of the famous mountain behind it looks too dramatic.

According to locals, Fengdu was pretty good more than 10 years ago and had many places of interest. In recent years, many clay sculptures of ghosts and gods have been lost and are now turned into plastic products. Continue to travel forward and you will come to Naihe Bridge, which can be said to be as famous as Fengdu Ghost Town. Naihe Bridge, built in the early Ming Dynasty, is divided into Golden Bridge and Silver Bridge. In our mythology system, Naihe Bridge is the only way to be reincarnated. There should be a Meng Po next to it, distributing Meng Po soup to every ghost passing by to travel to the past life and this life.

The Mingshan Tianzi Hall, built in the Jin Dynasty, is the residence of King Yama in the Five Halls and is the center of the ghost city. The existing buildings were rebuilt in the early Qing Dynasty.

The entire Fengdu Ghost Town tour does not take too long, and a one-day round trip from the main city of Chongqing is enough. For a place that has been famous throughout the ages and at home and abroad, its current appearance is truly disappointing. Even if there is good historical and cultural heritage that has taken root in this place, if it is not well protected. If it is also damaged. Everything that was once will disappear.
