Why are border walls starting to rise around the world?

The purpose of building a wall is of course to block outsiders and implement protectionism to protect oneself. Because today's economic globalization, trade globalization and other processes have harmed the interests of certain countries, threatened their international status, and made them feel that they are in danger.

After Trump took office, he proposed and has already begun planning and implementing the construction of a wall with Mexico. He also made unreasonable demands to the Mexican authorities that the wall should be built by the United States, but the cost of repairing the wall would have to be paid for by Mexico.

China built the Great Wall, one of the seven wonders of the world. In order to resist foreign invaders, after the end of World War II, a wall separated Berlin into two worlds, the east and west; a high-rise tower was erected between Israel and Palestine. Wall, now the US imperialism has erected a high wall with Mexico. There are many other countries that have begun to build walls, too numerous to mention.

Take the United States as an example. Trump’s coming to power means that domestic protectionism within the US imperial country is rampant and he is in power. In order to prevent illegal workers from entering the US empire, this must be done even if tens of billions of dollars are spent. Because they are panicked and afraid of being opened to refugees like Germany is doing now, the result is that their domestic security becomes unstable, their original market system is threatened, and their domestic people's lives are changed. They are afraid that their original comfortable life will be broken by so-called outsiders, and that outsiders will take away their shared resources. They want to use high walls to block those who want to share their lives and protect the benefits they have obtained.

But with globalization, the earth has become a village. Will this mentality become the mainstream of society? Of course not. Berlin is an example. The high walls erected now will inevitably be torn down by people in the near future, by the development of the times, and by the general trend.

High walls cannot save ourselves, and high walls cannot block the aspirations of the people.
