On April 9, 20021,the US Consulate General in Guangzhou resumed processing applications for fiance (wife) visas and immigrant visas. For visa applicants who made an appointment for interview positions from June 5438 to March 2020 but were cancelled, the Immigration Visa Department of the American Consulate in Guangzhou will contact them to reschedule their appointments in the near future.

According to the announcement issued on April 8th, the exemption scope of entry ban during the period of COVID-19 was adjusted. Immigrants, K 1 (fiance/wife) visa applicants, some exchange visitors to the United States for training, pilots and crew members, and foreigners who deliver or repair aircraft are listed as national interest exceptions, exempted from the entry restrictions stipulated in the original presidential decree, and can fly directly from China to the United States with valid visas.
