What are the procedures for applying for a permanent green card in New Zealand?

If you are in New Zealand at the time of application, you will bring your passport, two passport photos and the completed form to the immigration office two years later and get a permanent green card on the spot.

If you were not in New Zealand at that time, you need to send your passport, passport photos and forms to overseas immigration offices by post or in person within 1-2 weeks after you get your green card. The Overseas Immigration Bureau will examine your application and may ask you to provide proof of innocence and physical examination as supplementary materials. If you submit your application more than two weeks after the expiration of the two-year green card, you may need to provide an explanation letter, and your permanent green card will also be rejected.
