On September 29, the Longxian County Party Committee and County Government held a grand inauguration ceremony for Longxian No. 2 Senior High School.

Long County is a key county for national poverty alleviation and development. It has a population of 250,000 and only one high school. In 2005, with the care of provincial and municipal leaders at all levels, Long County overcame many difficulties, selected school sites, raised funds from various sources, and mobilized the entire county to launch the construction project of the second high school, which was listed as a key construction project in the city. The foundation stone was laid on December 26, 2005, and construction started in March 2006. After 18 months of construction, it was completed and accepted in August this year.

The newly completed Longxian No. 2 Senior High School was designed and built in accordance with provincial standardized high school specifications. It covers an area of ??120 acres, invested 45 million yuan, has a construction area of ??36,000 square meters, and has 60 teaching classes. This September, 1,001 high school freshmen will be admitted. The completion of the new school will increase the high school enrollment rate of junior high school graduates in the county from about 20% in the past to more than 40%.
