The main task of hydropower resources development in Yuanshui River Basin is to give priority to power generation and give consideration to the requirements of comprehensive utilization such as flood control and shipping, so as to promote the development and utilization of superior resources in the basin and promote economic development and social prosperity in the basin.

According to the planning of Yuanshui River Basin, the overall pattern of hydropower utilization scheme in the main stream of Yuanshui River is as follows: the upstream and downstream canyons are respectively constructed as "leading" reservoirs and key comprehensive utilization hubs, and the middle reaches of low mountains and hills are developed in steps of 15. From top to bottom, it is Ge Dong (80,000 kilowatts), Sanbanxi (1 10,000 kilowatts), Guazhi (76,000 kilowatts), Yuankou (6,543.8+042,000 kilowatts), Baishi (120,000 kilowatts), Tuokou (300,000 kilowatts) and Jiangshi (9,543,800 kilowatts). Youshui, the main tributary, is planned to be developed in six steps: Tang Wan, Tangkou, Shidi, Wanmipo, Fengtan and Gaotan, with a total installed capacity of 6.5438+0.796 million kilowatts, of which Shidi Hydropower Station is located in Chongqing, Tangkou Hydropower Station is located in Hubei and the rest are located in Hunan. Fengtan, Tang Wan and Gaotan are built power stations with an installed capacity of 486,000 kilowatts.

Sanbanxi Hydropower Station in the upper reaches of the main stream and 8 cascade hydropower stations in the middle reaches, such as Tuokou, Jiangshi, Hongjiang, Anjiang, Wantong, Qingshuitang, Dafuxi and Yutan, and Wanmipo Hydropower Station in the tributary. 10 hydropower stations have an installed capacity of 2.48 million kilowatts, an annual power generation of 8.7 billion kwh, a total storage capacity of more than 654.38 billion cubic meters and a total flood control storage capacity of 5 billion cubic meters.
