1987 graduated from Huazhong university of science and technology with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering; 1996 graduated from Huazhong university of science and technology with a master's degree in engineering. In 2005, he graduated from the Institute of Remote Sensing Application, Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctorate in cartography and geographic information system.
