Jinhe Bridge is a reinforced concrete deck arch bridge without hinged ribs, located at K680+288 of S307 Provincial Highway (Huyan Road), which is the main throat of Muli and Yanyuan counties leading to Xichang. Dajinhe is the lower reaches of Yalong River, which is commonly known as Jinhe by ordinary people. Before the completion of Jinhe Bridge, the material exchange between Muli and Yanyuan counties through Xichang mainly depended on Dajinhe Bridge about 400 meters downstream. 199 1 The newly-built Ertan Power Station in Panzhihua City, located in the lower reaches of the Yalong River, will begin to store water in its reservoir area on 1994. After the storage, the roads on both sides of the Yalong River will be flooded, making it impossible for the Dajinhe Bridge to continue to be used. Therefore, Ertan Immigration Bureau invested16.4 million yuan in 1996 to build Jinhe Bridge as compensation. The construction unit of the bridge is Liangshan Immigration Bureau, which is surveyed and designed by Sichuan Traffic Survey and Design Institute, organized by the Fourth Engineering Office of Sichuan Road and Bridge Corporation, and supervised by Liangshan Highway Engineering Consulting and Supervision Office. After the completion of the bridge, the maintenance of Yanyuan Highway by Liangshan Highway Administration will be carried out by Pingchuan Road Brigade.

The bridge deck of Jinhe Bridge has a clear width of 7+2× 0.5 safety belt, a single-hole clear distance of170m, a bridge length of 214m, a bridge height of 63m and a rise-span ratio of 1: 6. The bridge started in June 1997 and was completed and opened to traffic in March 1998, which lasted for one year and three months. The load standards are steam-20 and tow- 100.
