Anqing Huaining Pei surnamed Zhang. According to Zhang's genealogy in Xiaoyoutang, in the early Ming Dynasty, Zhang and his son moved to Huaining, Jiangxi. One of them lives at the foot of the Snow Mountain (under a snow cave near Chang 'anling). In order to take the imperial examination, he borrowed the native place of local Pei to take the examination, and was later named Pei, known as "Zhang Benpei". This is the origin of the surname Pei. Hou Pei moved to other provinces.

The other son lives in Zhangjiashan, Longjing, which is Sanyitang Zhang.
