When was Shaoguan Medical College merged into Shaoguan University?

On October 200211,the medical college of Shaoguan University was formally merged into Shaoguan University.

This marks that the Medical College of Shaoguan University has officially become the second-level college of Shaoguan University. The predecessor of Peyo Hospital, Shaoguan University School of Medicine, has a long history of more than 70 years. The School of Medicine of Shaoguan University was independent from Peyo Hospital in September 2009 and became a public secondary college of Shaoguan University.

Medical college has five undergraduate majors, namely clinical medicine, nursing, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology and rehabilitation treatment, and two higher vocational (specialist) majors, namely clinical medicine and nursing. At present, clinical medicine is one of the first undergraduate majors of brand strategy in our school.

The goal of medical college is to cultivate applied medical talents with professional expertise, basic medical service ability and basic medical first aid skills. It has more than 30 practice teaching bases, such as Peyo Hospital (3A Hospital), Dongguan tung wah hospital Hospital (Hospital) and people's hospitals in counties (districts), and has jointly held postgraduate courses with Zhongshan Medical College of Sun Yat-sen University.

In recent years, medical students have made great achievements in the "Challenge Cup" national extracurricular academic research works competition, clinical skills competition, nursing skills competition and other national competitions. Graduates are well received by employers and society, and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 98% for many years.
