"Water Margin" suddenly realized that this book is "advocating Taoism and restraining Buddhism". I don't know if it's right. Let's give a few examples to prove it.
Let's look at Taoism first:
First, the birth of the emperor was caused by the world. Song Taizu is a thunderbolt fairy from the upper bound, and Song Renzong is a barefoot fairy from the upper bound. Immortals are fabricated by Taoism. As for the lower bound of Song Huizong, The Water Margin has no explanation. And Song Huizong is an emperor who worships Taoism. "Water Margin" did not explain this, which should be an omission.
Second, the founder of Taoism is profound. When the plague was prevalent in Song Taizong, the court sent personnel to invite Zhang Zhenren, the founder of Longhushan Road in Xinzhou, Jiangxi Province (whether Zhang Sanfeng? ) I prayed and practiced Buddhism for seven days, and the plague disappeared. Why didn't you see the monk come out to eliminate the disaster?
Third, Song Jiang and other generals 108 are all demons. After they came to the world, they put loyalty and righteousness first and repeatedly violated the king's law, but in the end they all accepted the court, appointed officials and sealed their wives and children. After his death, he got the imperial edict from the Yellow Emperor, and was allowed to build temples, make statues and accept sacrifices from the people.
Fourth, Sung River was protected by Xuan Nv for nine days and given three volumes of gobbledygook. Nine days later, Xuan Nv awarded Xuan Nv to help him solve the secret of the Liao army's Taiyi mixed sky array. Jiutian Xuan Nv first appeared in Shu Wei in Han Dynasty. This book fictionalizes a story about Xuan Nv helping Huangdi to break Chiyou for nine days. Du Guangting, a Taoist priest in the Tang Dynasty, compiled the Biography of Xuan Nv in nine days. He clearly regarded Xuan Nv for nine days as a Taoist fairy, and his position was very high. He is "the teacher of the Yellow Emperor and the disciple of Yuan Jun, the golden mother". With her protection, how could Song Jiang be invincible?
Let's look at Buddhism again:
First, monks are all bad things. The Water Margin paraphrased Su Dongpo's words, "No baldness, no toxicity, no baldness, no toxicity, no baldness", which is a malicious mockery of monks. However, Su Dongpo had many contacts with monks in his life, the most interesting of which was Su Dongpo's contact with Fo Yin Zen Master. It is said that when Su Dongpo worked in Guazhou, he was separated from Jinshan Temple where Fo Yin lived by a river. Su Dongpo sighed, "the first day is in the sky, and the light is shining; Eight winds can't blow, sit on the purple lotus. " The "Eight Winds" are called, satirized, destroyed, praised, benefited, declined, bitter and happy. It shows that he meditates deeply and is not influenced by secular comments. He sent his son to Jackson Fo Yin. After reading it, the Zen master approved two words on it: "Fart!" Su Dongpo read the comment on writing and was furious. He crossed the river by boat himself and confessed. The Zen master said, didn't you say that "the eight winds can't blow"? Why did you hit Jiang Lai with a fart? Su Dongpo felt ashamed after hearing this. It seems that Su Dongpo's words quoted in Water Margin are just his temporary banter. "Water Margin" also said, "One word is a monk, the second word is a monk, the third word is a ghost music palace, and the fourth word is a hungry ghost." Not only that, the Water Margin also made a special explanation. Of all the people in the world, only monks are the most erotic. Because they are full of food and drink, idle and bored, they are inevitably lonely and eager to get angry. Secular people are hard to be idle. Rich people have a lot of work, but their minds are hard to decide. Even if they have beautiful wives and concubines in the same bed, it is difficult to have fun. As for ordinary people, they worry about daily necessities, and even if their wives are somewhat attractive, they are not interested. This kind of analysis can best reflect the characteristics of street literature, and it doesn't pretend to hide people's sexual instinct like A Dream of Red Mansions. Yes, when Guan Suo Yang Xiong's family was doing the Dojo, all the monks saw that his beautiful wife had turned into a pig, and they couldn't help but feel refreshed and forgot all the Buddhist meditation. This is a terrible word and an annoying description. I'm afraid even Taoist priests will be angry when they see it. "One Buddha was born, and two Buddhas ascended to heaven." We can also notice that the theory of human nature of this kind of street literature is completely different from that of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties, which occupies the mainstream position in the upper class. The latter advocates "preserving justice and destroying human desires."
Secondly, when Lu went to Wutai Mountain to become a monk, the first monk and other monks objected, thinking that this man described himself as fierce and did not look like a monk. But Elder Zhizhen told his disciples that he was a star-studded man and that he would have a fruitful future. Later, when Song Jiang led Lu to Wutai Mountain to pay homage, Elder Zhizhen saw Lu and said, "It is not easy to kill a disciple and set fire to it for several years." Lu was silent, and Song Jiang made a rounder for him. Later, as his master said, he sat in the Liuhe Temple in Hangzhou. After his death, the court gave him a legal number. It seems that becoming a Buddha is predestined in previous lives and has nothing to do with personal practice. It is not only unnecessary for Buddhists who advocate gradual enlightenment, but also unnecessary for Nanzong Zen who advocates epiphany. The southern Sect of Zen once believed that it was not necessary to practice hard for a long time, nor to study Buddhist teachings, but only to understand it now. Even a person full of evil can "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha." The story of Lu in Water Margin tells people that you can become a Buddha without putting down your butcher's knife. In this way, Buddhism ended.
