Crab culture

1, enough water plants

In summer, some aquatic plants such as water peanuts and duckweed should be raised in the crab pond, or some emergent plants such as reeds and water bamboo should be planted to provide a cool habitat for river crabs. The area where aquatic plants are installed or planted in crab ponds generally accounts for about 30% of the whole pond area. Too much should be harvested in time and too little should be replenished in time. At the same time, rotten aquatic plants should be fished out in time to avoid deteriorating water quality and breeding germs.

2. Freshwater quality

The crab pond should always check the water quality, change the water frequently, remove leftovers and dirt in time, and keep the pond water clean. The water depth must be kept above 1 m to prevent hot water from scalding crabs. Generally, the water is changed from night to the next morning 10, every 3-5 days, with a depth of about 5 cm each time. The water source must be clean and pollution-free.

In order to increase the content of calcium ions in the water body when the crab molts, generally, 5 ~ 10 kg of quicklime is used per mu of water surface, and it is sprinkled in the whole pond once every 15 ~ 20 days after watering, which is beneficial to the healthy growth of the crab.
