Brief introduction of Wuxiang

Wuxiang County, which belongs to Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, is located at the west foot of Taihang Mountain, in the southeast of Shanxi Province and in the northernmost part of Changzhi City. Its boundary looks like "Ruyi" between Taihang Mountain and Taiyue Mountain. Wuxiang County, located in the Western Han Dynasty, has a history of more than 2,000 years. The county has a total area of 16 10 square kilometer, governs 9 townships and 5 towns 1 agricultural development zone, and has 328 administrative villages with a permanent population of 155386(2020).

Wuxiang, called Gaoliang in the Western Zhou Dynasty, belonged to Nepal in the Warring States, Nepal County in the Western Han Dynasty, Nepal County in the Eastern Han Dynasty, Wuxiang in the Western Jin Dynasty, Wuxiang in the Northern Wei Dynasty and Wuxiang in the Tang Dynasty. Surrounded by mountains, the central hills rise and fall. The eastern mountainous area runs through the eastern county boundary from north to south, forming a natural barrier with Licheng County. All peaks are above 1700 meters above sea level, and Huashu 'ao, the highest peak, is the commanding height of the county.
