Sifang district is located in the southwest of Shandong Peninsula and in the middle of Qingdao, with a geographical location of120 22' east longitude and 36 06' north latitude. It borders Laoshan District and Shibei District in the east, Jiaozhou Bay in the west, Shibei District in the south and Licang District in the north. The coastline of the whole region is 7 kilometers long with a total area of 34.55 square kilometers.

Sifang district was founded in 195 1 year, which was the name of the original Sifang village. More than 600 years ago, the Sifang area was under the jurisdiction of Jimo County, Laizhou Prefecture. According to legend, from the 25th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (AD 1392), immigrants from Yunnan and other places moved here one after another, and gradually formed villages such as Cuobling, Hongshanpo, Xujiapo, Xujiacun, Wujiacun, Hudao, Xiaocun and Sifang, all under the jurisdiction of Jimo County. 1897 During the German occupation, the above areas were under the jurisdiction of Sicang District, Fushan District and Licun District respectively.
