Working principle of photoelectric mouse.

Principle: The light-emitting diode inside the optical mouse illuminates the bottom of the optical mouse through the light it emits. The light reflected from the bottom surface is transmitted to the light sensing device through the optical lens for imaging. When the optical mouse moves, the movement track is recorded as a group of coherent images shot at high speed, which are analyzed and processed by a special image analysis chip inside the optical mouse, thus completing the positioning of the cursor.

Optical mouse uses optical interrupters to judge signals. The most obvious feature is that the mouse needs to use a special reflector as a pad when moving. The main feature is its fine black and white dots. When the light-emitting diode illuminates the white point and the black point respectively, it will produce two states of refraction and non-refraction, and the photosensitive tube will produce corresponding signals after processing these two states, thus prompting the computer to respond.

Extended data:

Optical mouse positioning methods include grating positioning, trackball positioning, LED positioning, laser positioning and so on.

1, grating positioning is mainly used by mechanical mouse. When the mouse moves, it drives the rubber ball to roll, and the rolling of the rubber ball rubs the roller wheel responsible for the grating wheel in the horizontal and vertical directions in the mouse to drive the grating wheel to rotate. The rim of the grating wheel is grid-shaped, close to both sides of the grid, with an infrared light emitting tube on one side and an infrared receiving component on the other.

2. The trackball positioning is similar to a grating, except that the moving mode of the wheel is changed, the ball seat is fixed, and the trackball is directly moved by hand to control the movement of the mouse arrow. When the trackball is rubbed, it drives the rollers on the left, right, upper and lower sides. The rollers are provided with grating wheels, and the LED and the receiving assembly generate pulse signals for positioning.

3. The characteristic of laser positioning is to use laser instead of ordinary light emitted by light-emitting diodes. Laser is electron-excited light, which has extremely high monochromaticity and linearity compared with ordinary light. The laser used for positioning is mainly invisible light.
