Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council have established a "five in one" overall development strategy, thoroughly implemented the development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and enjoyment, and placed ecological civilization construction and environmental protection in a more important strategic position. Environmental protection industry has become an important supporting force to prevent and control environmental pollution, improve the quality of ecological environment and realize green and low-carbon development. The Outline of the Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development clearly puts forward that "developing green environmental protection industries, supporting the innovation of technical equipment and service models, and promoting the development and growth of energy-saving and environmental protection industries". Since 20 15, with the full implementation of the new Environmental Protection Law and the three major action plans for the prevention and control of air, water and soil pollution, focusing on improving environmental quality, strengthening ecological protection and restoration, and consolidating the foundation of green development, the environmental governance system of the government, enterprises and society is gradually taking shape, and the environmental protection industry has ushered in unprecedented development opportunities.

In order to gather green knowledge, improve environmental quality, build a high-end exchange platform for environmental policy analysis, mode discussion, technical exchange, supply and demand docking and viewpoint collision, and promote the innovative development of environmental protection industry, I will hold the "20 17 Environmental Protection Industry Innovation and Development Conference" in Beijing during the 15th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition (CIEPEC 20 17).
