On February 12, 2009, Yichun Municipal Government and Jiangxi Airport Group Corporation signed the Framework Agreement on Investment, Construction and Operation of Yichun Mingyueshan Airport Project in Nanchang, which determined the management system and airport construction investment of Yichun Mingyueshan Airport. According to the agreement, the completed Yichun Mingyueshan Airport belongs to the management of the provincial airport group company, which marks that Yichun Mingyueshan Airport has become the 36th airport of the Capital Airport Group Company. In order to reduce the pressure of airport operation, Yichun Municipal Government will coordinate local public security, fire control, medical treatment, first aid and other departments to undertake airport emergency rescue and fire control responsibilities.

On May 13, 2009, the land acquisition and demolition of Mingyueshan Airport was basically completed, and the demolition and resettlement was under way. Airport Road Line B has started construction; In March, the feasibility study report of the airport was completed, and in the same month, the National Development and Reform Commission entrusted China Civil Aviation Consulting Company for evaluation. The EIA report successfully passed the expert review in early April 2009.
