Welder internship report and summary~

Welder Internship Report

1. Welding: It is a method of joining two workpieces together using heat energy or pressure, or both at the same time, with or without filler materials.

2. Types of welding: brazing, oxygen-acetylene welding, CO2 shielded welding, argon arc welding, and manual arc welding.

3. Safe operation

1. Prevent electric shock: Before working, check whether the welding machine is well grounded; check whether the welding clamp cable is in good condition.

Special attention: 380V behind the welding machine

2. Prevent arc burns and scalds: Arc light contains a large amount of ultraviolet and infrared rays and strong visible light, which is irritating to the eyes and skin. Do not touch the welded workpiece. When tapping the welding slag, use appropriate force and pay attention to the direction.

3. Protective equipment: welding mask, leather gloves, rubber-soled shoes

4. Equipment safety, AC arc welding machines and welding clamps should not be placed on or working on the OIG on the table to avoid short circuit and burning out the welding machine. If you notice high fever or a burning smell during work, stop working immediately, turn off the power, and report to the teacher.

5. Self-prevention and treatment of eye burning: human milk drip, eye drops, and cold wet towel applied to eyes.

IV. Process

1. Current selection: Ф2.5mm recommended value 70-90A (welding position (flat, horizontal, vertical, upward))

Formula: I(A)=K*D(mm) Experience coefficient K: d(mm) 1—2 3—4 5—6

K 25—30 30—40 40—60

2. Arc ignition contact method, friction method, light contact, and quickly lift 2-4mm

3. When transporting the electrode, grasp the angle of the electrode, which is basically perpendicular to the workpiece, and in the forward direction. Incline 5 degrees to 15 degrees

Forward speed: slow and uniform straight line

Feeding speed (maintain the length of the arc)

4. Lateral swing (widening) Weld)

Broken line

Half-moon style

Circumferential style

5﹑Pause briefly at the beginning

6 ﹑Break the arc at the end to cool down and then strike the arc

5. Notes:

1. When entering the workshop for internship, you must wear work clothes, tie the large cuffs tightly, and tie the shirt in Underpants. Sandals, slippers, high heels, vests, skirts and scarves are not allowed in the workshop.

2. Chasing, fighting, making noise, reading books and periodicals unrelated to the internship, reciting foreign language words, listening to radio and MP3, etc. are strictly prohibited in the workshop.

3. Practice should be carried out on the designated welding machine. No other equipment, tools or electrical switches are allowed to be moved without permission.

4. Before welding, check whether the welding machine is well grounded, and the insulation of the welding clamp and cable must be good.

5. When welding, you should stand on the wooden pad and do not operate with bare feet. Do not touch conductive parts with bare hands to prevent electric shock.

6. To prevent harmful ultraviolet and infrared damage, you must wear gloves and a mask to prevent arc light damage and burns.

7. When knocking slag, pay attention to the direction of knocking to prevent welding slag from flying out and hurting people.

8. Do not hold the workpiece directly with your hands after welding. Use iron tongs to hold it.

9. Oxygen cylinders, argon gas cylinders and carbon dioxide cylinders must not be impacted, baked or exposed to the sun.

10. The oxygen bottle nozzle is not allowed to have grease or other flammable materials, and the wrench is not allowed to have oil stains.

11. There are no sparks allowed around the acetylene bottle, and it must be placed at a certain distance from the oxygen bottle.

12. After the internship, the venue, equipment and tools must be cleaned up.

VI. Equipment safety:

1. The wiring points of the lines must be in close contact to prevent heating due to looseness and poor contact.

2. The welding clamp must not be placed on the workbench at any time to avoid short circuit and burning out the welding machine.

3. When you find that the welding machine or circuit is hot, you should stop working immediately.

4. When the operation is completed or the welding machine and circuit system are inspected, the switch must be opened and the power turned off.

Experiences of a welder

This is the first time I have entered the welding machine room in person, and it is also the first time I have welded the welding rod by myself. When I heard other people’s experiences as welders, I thought that It’s nothing, I can learn it easily, but being a welder is not that simple. After taking the theoretical class for the second time, it was finally my turn to practice it myself! I was very happy, but also very nervous and scared. , after all, it was my first contact with welding! I meditated the theory taught by the teacher in my mind, put on the mask and started to do it. I thought it would be very simple and easy, but the welding rod just stuck to the iron plate, and I immediately became nervous. As the teacher said, I immediately shook it from side to side, and sure enough the welding rod fell off the iron plate! Later, I felt much better, and I was not so scared...

During the second internship, although the weather was very hot, we still wore tight clothes, which were almost airtight, because we knew The dangers involved! At first, after I started the arc by friction, I held the welding rod very high and saw the flames rushing downwards, just like a rocket taking off! I thought that if I held the welding rod higher, the impact would be smaller, so after welding the first rod, there was nothing left on the iron plate except scattered small iron beads! It makes me feel very uncomfortable to see other people welding so well. After welding all four pieces like this, I feel like I haven’t learned anything! Later, after asking Teacher Lu, I learned that the welding rod should be held lower and the moving speed slower to weld well! After I finished welding, it was obvious that my "masterpiece" still failed the teacher's inspection. I asked the teacher what shortcomings I had. The teacher analyzed the problems of my "masterpiece" one by one, and I also compared my own with others. Through his works, he found out his own shortcomings, accumulated considerable experience, and gained self-confidence for himself.

During my third internship, I always adjusted the positions of some classmates. I thought I had learned well, but after changing the positions, I was a mess! My heart feels empty, I don’t know why? Later, I asked Teacher Lu again and found out that I was not good at studying! Teacher Lu said: "As a good welder, you can weld well whether horizontally, vertically, lying down, or on your back." Yes, only by recognizing your own shortcomings and working hard to practice can you continue to make progress.

In short, this internship taught me that everything must be done with concentration, rigor and seriousness, and think over and over again. Only in this way can we do what we should do well. I think this internship will be a good start for so many internships in my future.
