Yuhuangding Hospital in Yantai has gone through more than a century since it was founded by American Presbyterian Church in 1890. In the history of 100 years, it has experienced the period of the United States, Japanese, Kuomintang and the People's Government of New China, and gradually developed from a clinic to today's third-class first-class general hospital. By 1952, the hospital had 180 beds and 153 staff, including 87 health technicians. 1958, the hospital invested 98,000 yuan to build an outpatient building of 1236 square meters. That year, the original inpatient isolation ward was independently "Yantai Infectious Disease Hospital". 1959, the hospital was renamed as "Yuhuangding People's Hospital in Yantai".
