History of Shaanxi Weihe Power Generation Co., Ltd.

Shaanxi Weihe Power Generation Co., Ltd., formerly known as Weihe Power Plant of Northwest Electric Power Administration, was founded in 1966. Two 50,000 kW coal-fired units made in East Germany were installed in the first phase of the project, with an investment of 710.3 million yuan, which were put into operation in February 1970 and September/97/kloc-0 respectively. The expansion project is a joint venture between the state and Shaanxi Province to alleviate the serious power shortage in Shaanxi Province. The project is constructed in two phases, and four 300,000 kW coal-fired units are installed. 1992 Two 300,000 kW units were put into operation for power generation; 1995, two more 300,000 kw units were put into operation. At this point, the expansion project is over, with a total installed capacity of1300,000 kilowatts, and the new and old factory areas and welfare areas cover an area of 1320 mu.
