Why is Tai’an Xujialou called Xujialou?

It was built by a family named Xu in the Qing Dynasty.

Xujialou is a village under the jurisdiction of Zhuyang Town, Daiyue District, Tai'an, Shandong Province. It is backed by Panlong Mountain and adjacent to Baisha River. This village is named after the buildings built by the Xu family in the Qing Dynasty. There are still two ancient buildings in the village, one is idle and the other is still inhabited by descendants of the Xu family.

The Xu family is very particular about building buildings. The walls are particularly thick and divided into two layers: the outer layer is blue bricks and the inner layer is adobe. This structure is called "raw inside and cooked outside", which has thermal insulation and warmth. Efficacy, warm in winter and cool in summer, pleasant to live in.
