Before I joined the job, I also looked forward to going to work along the "most beautiful expressway in Beijing" every day, working in a hundred flowers meadow, watching the strange peaks, enjoying the sunset glow and listening to the gurgling streams ... But how full the ideal is, how skinny the reality is. I didn't know until I got to work that Baihua Mountain is really far away, more than 90 kilometers away from the urban area. It takes 68 stops by bus, and it takes 3 hours one way. Baihua Mountain is really dangerous. Take snake medicine when you go out. Watch out for the trap of stealing hunters when patrolling the mountains. Driving to see the 100-meter cliff on the side of the road can't help but be jumpy. The work in Baihua Mountain is really hard, and it often takes half a month to go home. In winter, when the mountains are closed by heavy snow, it is not uncommon to be unable to go home for several months. No one cares about the big things and small feelings at home, and they are often complained by their families. The work in Baihua Mountain is really tiring. Rangers have to walk twenty or thirty kilometers of mountain roads to patrol the mountains every day. When the masters retired, they had walked more than 300,000 kilometers, enough to circle the earth 10. I can't help asking myself: "Is it worth staying in this deep forest all my life?"

Whether it is worth it or not is a soul torture that every Baihuashan person has to face.

After 70 years of wind and rain, generations of Baihua Mountain "green guards" have taken root in the vast mountains and cared for green mountains and green hills. The old tree witnessed the loyalty of Baihuashan people, and the dense forest was the answer made by Baihuashan people!

Forests and green seas cannot be separated from our patrol and management. In our Baihua Mountain, every ranger is like a book, full of stories. Liu Yonglin is an old worker who has been a ranger for nearly 30 years. He hangs binoculars every day, patrols dozens of spots and hills, and his shoes are worn out by hundreds. Every year from 10 to April, he will be "isolated" for more than half a year. Because he seldom goes home, his children dare not recognize him as their father until they are three years old. On 20 17, during his last tour of the mountains before leaving the army, Master Liu, who has always been cheerful and optimistic, had tears in his eyes, and his hands trembled and stroked his telescope that he had used for many years. He said to himself, "Old chap, we can't watch the Woods together in the future. Will you miss me? " . Master Liu really likes this mountain and works hard. Leopard, brown-eared pheasant, golden eagle, phoenix tree, peony, Baihua Mountain grape ... He can identify almost every kind of birds and animals in Baihua Mountain, be familiar with every plant and its characteristics, and be good at animal rescue, plant breeding and popular science education. He is known as "Baihua Mountain Walking Dictionary". On April 29th last year, Master Liu died of illness. On my deathbed, I held my wife's hand and said, "I know you don't want me to be a ranger, and I can't care about my family at all, but forest protection is a great responsibility." No matter how hard and tired you are, someone will always do it. " It's worth being a ranger in this life! "

Wang Keshan, an old party member, 16 years old went to Baihua Mountain and worked for nearly forty years. Decades of working experience in mountains and forests made him very picky. Looking at the mountains and the weather, you can judge the changes of solar terms, and you can also know the wind, frost, rain and snow. For strangers who enter the mountain, he can basically judge their purpose and whether they smoke by staring into their eyes and taking a look at their clothes ... The ravines and ridges of Baihua Mountain are all his footprints. In the winter of 20 13, several travelers took a wild road and were trapped on Baihua Mountain. Wang Keshan, who had just finished touring the mountain, went up without saying a word, carrying mineral water and ham on his back. With his knowledge of the terrain, he found the trapped traveler in less than three hours, and even the rescuers gave him a thumbs up.

Speaking of the persistence and dedication of generations of Baihuashan people, Dong Liu, who served as Party Secretary and Director of the Management Office on 20 10, always had deep feelings in his eyes.

Today, Baihuashan Management Office has established a cadre team that combines old, young and middle-aged partners, professional technology and management talents, introduced advanced technology and facilities, and monitored dynamically in all directions for 24 hours, thus making rare animals and plants the most effective protection. The functions of nature reserves have expanded from single resource protection to popular science education, scientific research and eco-tourism. The number of national first-class protected animals increased from 5 to 9, and the number of second-class protected animals increased from 32 to 36. The year before last, Baihuashan grape, which is unique to nature reserve, successfully blossomed and bore fruit, which filled the blank of national first-class protection of wild plants in our city.
