My working experience in studying in Korea
Since June, in kwangchow, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, nearly 70 China students and migrant workers suspected of working illegally have been arrested and repatriated by the South Korean authorities. Korean universities also held symposiums on the issue of overseas students from China to publicize the relevant regulations prohibiting illegal employment. In fact, in response to the problem of illegal work for international students, from the first half of this year, the Korea Exit-Entry Administration issued a notice to Korean universities, asking them to formulate corresponding regulations and manage them. For a time, the situation of overseas students in China has attracted more attention from domestic relatives and friends.
The reporter interviewed some China students studying in Korea, revealing their little-known side of working and living in foreign countries.
Zhong Min: I lost 20 pounds in three months.
In 2006, Zhong Min went to Korea to study and studied at Jeonnam National University. As a newcomer, Zhong Min doesn't have any foundation in Korean, and even the most basic number 1- 10 can't be explained clearly. Due to poor family conditions, he earned his living expenses by working in Korea.
Although the income from working in Korea is quite high, for Zhong Min, the process of finding a job is extremely difficult.
Because of the language barrier, Zhong Min can't apply for a job in the local employment center. In the face of job advertisements all over the street, he can only be in a daze without knowing Korean.
In desperation, Zhong Min began to call the recruitment company in fluent Korean. When the other party heard that it was China's, they all refused. You can't support yourself without a job. Zhong Min kept calling for a job for four or five days in a row, and finally an intermediary company willing to recruit China employees accepted him, but only if he had to pay an intermediary fee of 654.38+0.5 million won first. Zhong Min thought about it and finally agreed.
The next day, the agent introduced Zhong Min to a job of processing parts in a factory: working 12 hours a day, 60,000 won, even overtime. Calculated, you can earn about 6.5438+0.8 million won a month, provided that you have to work for three months.
Zhong Min said that he had never done manual labor in China, and this time he was processing the steering knuckle of a car in a factory in South Korea. Each knuckle weighs 10 kg, and more than 600 pieces are needed to complete the set workload. Working on the assembly line, he can't stop for a moment.
Every day after work, Zhong Min is very tired and feels that he is about to collapse. What is more tiring is the night shift. Zhong Min said that at three or four o'clock in the morning, his body didn't listen to himself. However, the eyes are full of parts that need to be processed, and the work has to continue. Zhong Min washed it with cold water and went on working.
Zhong Min had a two-month summer vacation, but when he applied for the job, he promised to work for three months. The last month is like living in hell. He said that he works in class during the day and sleeps less than 4 hours a day. Such a heavy load of study and work makes Zhong Min miserable. He often suffers from dizziness and nosebleeds. Three months later, Zhong Min lost 20 pounds.
Chen Yue: I've been working for half a month, and I haven't got any money.
Just arrived in South Korea, because of moving and language problems, Chen Yue's job was not settled, so she had to turn to an intermediary. The agent introduced the night shift work of an ice cream factory: unloading the ice cream from the car in the first half of the night, and loading the unloaded ice cream away in the second half of the night according to the orders of various retail stores in Seoul. The work is simple, but it is very tiring.
A box of 20 ice cream, four or five boxes at a time, back 12 hours every night, let Chen Yue's arm. He gritted his teeth and stood up. But in less than half a month, the boss refused to let him go to work and his salary was not paid. Bad luck, the first time I met a liar intermediary. Hard work, but no hard-earned money. Chen Yue said.
Chen Yue's second job is to deliver goods at night in a coffee shop. Every night from 9 pm to 8 am. Every time he comes home from work, he simply washes himself and then rushes to school. He can go home and sleep after school in the afternoon 1. Staying up late for a long time made Chen Yue lose his spirit, his eyes were red, his endocrine was disordered, his whole body was covered with pimples, and his palms peeled off seriously. However, Chen Yue was afraid to go to the hospital because the registration fee would cost her a night's salary.
postscript
The stories of Zhong Min and Chen Yue epitomize the working life of many Korean students in China. They say it is not easy to study and work in Korea. We should deal with both academic pressure and work pressure. Hard work is self-evident, and the physical and mental fatigue and bitterness behind work-study programs are hard for others to understand.
