Shaoguan Southern Technical School, formerly known as Guangdong Nuclear Industry Mining and Metallurgical Technical School, is affiliated to China National Nuclear Corporation and is a national key technical school. In 2004, it was placed under the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and directly under the Guangdong Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security. It was renamed Guangdong Southern Advanced Technical School. In 2007, it was upgraded to Guangdong Southern Technical College. Since its establishment, the school has been rated as a provincial and municipal rural labor force training unit, a provincial civilized campus, a municipal civilized unit, and a garden unit.
