The Legend of Puyuan Town

The best silk in the world

"Jinsong people come from Xiuzhou, and Qingge is not reused; Nowadays, the pattern is new, and the domestic competition praises Puyuansi. " Why is Pu silk particularly good? There are deep historical origins here.

Puyuan is located in the center of Hangjiahu Plain. In ancient times, there were deep lakes passing through the town, with dense water networks, fertile land and pleasant climate, which was especially suitable for developing sericulture. In addition, the water quality is excellent, and "raw silk" is different from other places. These are all first-class silks. In the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, a man named Zhu Zai moved from the Central Plains to Hangzhou, bringing more advanced weaving technology from the Central Plains. After this technology was spread to Puyuan Town at that time, it was further improved by local craftsmen, and it was "the best in the world". The process adopts high-quality clay raw materials and advanced weaving technology, and the produced Pu yarn has the characteristics of fine texture, softness and smoothness, bright color and particularly strong fastness. Therefore, Pusi, together with Hangfang, Tiger Skin and Luoduan at that time, was called the four famous silks in the south of the Yangtze River, which were not only exported at home and abroad, but also tribute silks of the imperial courts in previous dynasties.

Under the banner of "Jingnan", Judy, the Ming emperor, sent troops from Beijing to Nanjing to seize the throne and became a more successful Yongle emperor in history. Emperor Yongle moved the capital to Beijing. In order to strengthen Ming's prestige and consolidate national defense, he built the Great Wall and erected a flag at Shanhaiguan. The wind and sand on Shanhaiguan is extremely heavy, and the flag made of ordinary silk was torn by the wind in a few days. To this end, the general who kept the pass was deeply troubled and suggested that Emperor Yongle choose the best tribute silk as the flag. Emperor Yongle ordered his ministers to put more than a dozen tribute silks on their desks one by one and scrape them across the surface with a sword to test the fastness. Other silk was scraped back and forth only once, some were hairy and some were cracked. Only when the Pu wire is scraped back and forth three times will it be slightly hairy. Emperor Yongle ordered the flag to be made of pu silk.

Pusi really lived up to expectations, and the flag made of it can not only endure the invasion of sandstorm for a long time, but also the gorgeous color will remain unchanged for a long time. The banner made of pu silk, which reads "the first pass in the world", is very spectacular.

Pusi is becoming more and more famous, known as "the best silk in the world", and is widely used in the military to make shirts, military accounts and so on. Later Manchu, Taiping Army, etc. They all chose Pusi for military use for a long time, and the finished products of Pusi can still be found in the Forbidden City.

Xiang Yun Guan in Ming and Qing Dynasties is one of the three Taoist temples in the south of the Yangtze River, which is as famous as Suzhou Xuanmiao Temple. The temples and pavilions in the temple are repetitive, well-built, magnificent in scale, and many rare stones and trees are the best. Xiangyuan Temple was founded in the Five Dynasties, and was expanded by the Pu family in the Yuan Dynasty, forming a large-scale temple that began to take shape. In the backyard of Guanguan, there is a jewel in the south of the Yangtze River-Xiangyun Stone. This stone, together with the crepe marble of Chongfu Fuyan Temple at that time, was called the two great stones in the south of the Yangtze River, so the temple was renamed Xiang. This stone was collected from Taihu Lake when the temple was expanded. After being processed by skilled craftsmen, it has a strange shape. The stone is more than 20 feet high, steep and exquisite, and there are many caves in it. When it rains every day, colorful clouds will be sprayed in the cave to surround the stone, and a trickle will overflow in the cave at the bottom. After a long time, a small pond will form around the square stone. The clear spring water flowing from marble is cool and sweet, which is called Yunquan by the world and has the effect of treating diseases and eliminating disasters. According to legend, there was a drought in the south of the Yangtze River one year, and people ate easily. The emperor posted a list of imperial envoys to recruit people who gave orders. Seeing that the dried-up Xiangyun stone spewed out colorful clouds again, Zhang Daoshi and Zhang Daoshi dared to unveil the imperial list and set up an altar to worship heaven. It is inevitable that they will mumble something and play some tricks. Sure enough, it rained soon, and the drought was eliminated. The dragon was overjoyed. That is, taking Zhang Daoshi and Zhang Daoshi as real people, they allocated funds to rebuild the temple and named it "Xiang".

There is also an inverted tree in the view, with its roots facing the sky and leaves sticking out from the middle of the flower bed, which is very lush. According to legend, Zhang Daoshi was in a hurry one day and was hanged by cypress branches beside the flower bed. In a rage, Zhang Loutou uprooted the cypress tree and planted it in the soil of the flower bed. The cypress tree survived, and the lush branches and leaves were derived from the cracks in the flower beds, which became another wonder in the scenery.

Puyuan is the hometown of ancient silk, and its towns are extremely prosperous. In Yun Guan, Hunan Province, an organic temple was built to worship the machine god, and a machine industry association was established to take charge of the textile and silk trade in the whole town. According to the guild regulations, every time a piece of silk is produced and sold, the machine shop and the firm will jointly donate two pieces of silver to the repair. At that time, Puyuan was full of sunrise and donated a lot. During the reign of Kangxi, three craftsmen in Yun Guan, Hunan Province spent three years and spent more than 10,000 yuan to build a large stage, box building and other supporting facilities.

Xiangyun stone in the pass was once classified as a flower stone to pay tribute to the emperor, but it was finally abandoned because of difficulties in handling it. Later, it was plundered by warlords of the Republic of China and sank into Taihu Lake during transportation. The fallen trees were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. Up to now, only the towering gables still stand tall, becoming one of the key cultural relics protection projects at the county level.
