Investment bank recruitment requirements

First of all, you need to have a very solid financial professional foundation, especially the knowledge of securities market and accounting. Investment banking is a very professional field, which is very different from commercial banks. Generally speaking, it is difficult for non-financial students to enter investment banks because the threshold is too high.

Secondly, your English level should reach at least CET-6, and it will be better if you pass TOEFL, GRE and so on.

Third, you must be prepared for hardship. Although the return of investment banks is relatively high, they also pay a lot. You must be able to adapt to high-intensity work, high work pressure and good team spirit (which investment banks value).

Fourth, it is best to apply for interns from major investment banks during holidays. Investment banks attach great importance to relevant internship experience.

I almost forgot to mention that I need to be proficient in EXCEL, PPT and other operations, because almost everything is made with these two softwares.

Of course, investment banks also need computer professionals, but the demand in this respect is not great, and even if they enter investment banks, they only do backstage work and do not participate in investment banking business, and their salary is different from IBD. Therefore, I personally feel that it is of little significance to do technical support in investment banks.
