Nantong Junshan tourist guide (the more detailed, the better)
Hello everyone, I am the guide, my name is ***, everyone calls me Xiao*, I will serve you today, I wish you all a happy visit here.
Overview of Junshan → Guanyin Pure Vase → Daguan Waterfall → Dashanmen Cliff → Qitai → Wangjiang Terrace → Putuo Courtyard → Junshan Meteorological Observatory
Overview of Junshan, its name and history Changqianjun Mountain is the easternmost of the Five Lang Mountains and the easternmost mountain on the north bank of the Yangtze River, 18 miles away from Nantong City. Among the five mountains, Junshan is the largest, covering an area of ??5.4 hectares. It is also the highest mountain, with an altitude of 118 meters. If you stand on Langshan Mountain and look at it, Junshan Mountain has a flat top and extends to the north, resembling an elephant, so it is also called "Elephant Mountain". According to legend, Junshan was once the place where Emperor Qin Shi Huang stationed his troops, so everyone called it "Junshan". A long time ago, the other four of the Five Lang Mountains were connected to the mainland, but Junshan still lived alone in the river, surrounded by huge waves of the river, surging. There is a poem that goes, "Where the two Junjian gorges are cut across, the waves are like millions of soldiers." ”, which describes such a spectacular scene. It was not until the end of Kangxi's reign that Junshan was connected to the north bank of the Yangtze River.
The Avalokitesvara Pure Vase walks into the gate of Junshan, (Couplet on the gate: Truth is not empty and great compassion can overcome all hardships; consciousness has no boundaries, emptiness and color, and the light of the five aggregates appears.)
The first thing I saw It is the magical instrument held by the "Avalokitesvara" Bodhisattva - the Avalokitesvara Pure Vase. This also tells us that this is a Buddhist holy place dedicated to the "Avalokitesvara" Bodhisattva. "Guanyin" was originally called "Guanyin", also called "Guanyin". In the Tang Dynasty, in order to avoid Taizong Li Shimin's name taboo, "Guanyin" was shortened to "Guanyin".
The pure vase you see in front of you is 9.19 meters high, which coincides with the ninth month of the lunar calendar, the day of enlightenment of Guanyin Bodhisattva. The pure vase, together with the giant lotus base at the bottom, is a total It weighs 10 tons and is entirely made of brass. Legend has it that Guanyin holds a white jade pure bottle, so the bottle-shaped part above is painted white. There is a branch of willow hanging from the mouth of the bottle, and little bits of nectar are falling from the branches of the willow to the world. This pure vase is currently the largest in the world and was built in memory of Fakong, the founder of Junshan. Below the lotus platform is a nectar pool with a graceful mountain stream, symbolizing the "eight virtues of water surrounding the four directions." Here is the terrace, where everyone can catch the nectar floating down. The clouds and mist on the Manna Pond make you feel like you are in a fairyland on earth. This is the effect produced by the most advanced spray system we imported from the United States.
Dear visitors to Daguan Waterfall, what we see in front of us is Daguan Waterfall. According to legend, Master Fakong once carved a mountain spring on Junshan Mountain, but it gradually dried up. Now, in memory of Master Fakong, this waterfall is built here. Daguan Waterfall is by far the most spectacular artificial waterfall north of the Yangtze River. The waterfall has a height of 45 meters, a width of 10 meters, a daily water consumption of 1,000 cubic meters, and a daily electricity consumption of 2,000 kilowatt hours. The water of the waterfall cascades down, water drops splash in all directions, and the roaring sound is endless. Standing under the waterfall, you can truly feel the artistic conception of Li Bai's poem "Flying down three thousand feet, condensed like the Milky Way falling into the nine sky". At the same time, it also has a bit of the dynamic and "silver" feeling of "big beads and small beads falling on a jade plate". The bottle bursts and water slurries burst out, and the cavalry stands out with the majestic sound of swords and guns. If you are interested, you can take photos here.
Go forward a few dozen meters from Dashanmen Cliff, and now we have arrived at Dashanmen Cliff. The protruding rock above is called Putuo Rock. Generally, everyone goes up the mountain from here, so it is called Shanmen. The four characters "Dashanmenya" above were engraved during the Republic of China. The mountain god is enshrined here, and it is said to be very efficacious. It is still popular today. And common people say that there is a treasure hidden by Qin Shihuang behind this. As long as you can find a reed that is one foot or two feet long without any knots in the middle and lean it against the cliff of the mountain gate, the stone gate will open automatically, and all the treasures inside will be gold, silver, jewelry, and rare treasures. It's a strange product, but until today, I still haven't found a suitable person. If you are interested, you can also give it a try. Engraved on the stone wall to the east of Dashanmen Cliff is "This sea level is fourteen feet below the sea level when measured in Yimao season." This is an old mark for measuring sea level.
Qitai This is the Qitai. According to legend, Qin Shihuang wanted to live forever. He heard that there were three fairy mountains on the sea, named "Abbott", "Yingzhou" and "Penglai". There was the "elixir of immortality" on the mountains, so he sent Xu Fu to look for them. Xu Fu saw several mountains in the distance by boat on the river, and hurried over. It turned out that it was not the place he was looking for, and this was the place where Xu Fu climbed to Junshan to rest.
Okay, everyone will take a rest here. During this time, I will tell you about the rise and fall of our army.
Four hundred years ago, Fa Kong came here and felt that it was like a paradise, with scenery no less beautiful than Luojia Mountain in the South China Sea, so he decided to hang a tin here and serve in the army together with the monk Chongxuan. There are thatched cottages on the mountain. Later, with the help of Wang Yangde, the commander-in-chief of Langshan, the pirates were eliminated. In the winter of the third year of Chongzhen, the Putuo Courtyard was built to worship the three Bodhisattvas Avalokitesvara, Manjusri, and Samantabhadra, making Junshan a Buddhist resort in the southeast.
In the fifteenth year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Zheng Chenggong supported 170,000 troops and invaded the Nanjing River, prompting the Qing government to implement the maritime ban policy, and Junshan was destroyed in the war. During the Kangxi and Qianlong years, Junshan Temple was rebuilt and reached its heyday. At that time, there were nearly a thousand monks' houses and 16 nunneries on the mountain. The incense and scale of the temples even exceeded those of Langshan. Later, during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the "cup of tea sect" emerged in Nantong. They used Junshan as their base of activities and prepared to seize Tongzhou and welcome the Taiping Army to cross the river. However, they failed because of a spy informing them. The Qing government ordered an encirclement and suppression of Junshan. Shijunshan was severely damaged again.
After nearly 150 years of silence, it was not until 2002 that Junshan was able to rebuild the Putuo Courtyard with the strong support of the Nantong Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.
