Geographical environment of Touzao town

Touzao Town, which belongs to Dongtai City, Jiangsu Province, is the central regional town on the east squat line of Dongtai City. It is adjacent to Nanshenzao Town in the south and Wanying Town in Dafeng District across the river in the north. Yancheng is one of the 50 key towns and an important industrial town in Dongtai.

Touzao is the birthplace of coastal salt culture. Before Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, it was an endless sea. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, due to the national turmoil, the people of Suzhou found their own way to make a living and used natural resources to build stoves and burn salt here. Because Luo and Li pioneered the kitchen, they won the name of the first kitchen in the world and were known as the "first kitchen in the world".

Touzao is located in the suburb of Dongtai, with a superior geographical position. There are many rivers in the south, Dongtai River in the middle and Donggang in Sichuan in the north. Provincial Highway 333 and Provincial Highway 226 run through the territory, with convenient land and water transportation. Due to the implementation of zoning adjustment, Touzao Town merged with the original Liuzao Town and Caotuo Town. The newly established Touzao Town has a total area of 206.82 square kilometers, cultivated land area of 6.5438+0.59 million mu, 65.438+0 community management committees, 34 administrative villages (neighborhood committees), 36.65438+0 villagers' groups and 26,900 households.

Touzao town is mushroom-shaped, with high terrain in the south and low terrain in the north. Before Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty, it used to be an endless sea, with ebb and flow and rough waves. Due to the impact of seawater, a large amount of sediment is deposited on the seaside, and the seawater gradually moves eastward, gradually forming a beach. In the middle and late Ming Dynasty, due to the national turmoil, Suzhou Changmen people found their own way to make a living and moved here. They take planting grass as the standard and dividing land as the boundary, build straw houses to live in, and use natural resources to build stoves to burn salt. At that time, because the Changmen set up the first salt stove here, it was named "Touzao". Touzao is one of the old revolutionary areas in Yanfu area of Central Jiangsu. In this hot land, how many people with lofty ideals gave their lives to protect their country and defend their country. Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, Su Yu and other proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation fought bloody battles, inspired heroic sons and daughters and wrote magnificent poems.
