Brief introduction of Yueqing Hongqiao

Hongqiao Town was a new city in ancient times. According to legend, Wang, a famous minister in the Southern Song Dynasty, transported Chishi to Zhangzhou to build a new city bridge. Because the stone of the bridge is as red as the rainbow that breaks the waves, it was named "Hongqiao" and later became famous as a bridge town. Before Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty, Hongqiao set up a new post office. In the early Ming Dynasty, a new store was set up. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Hongqiao was the 14th capital of Ruiying Township. The year of Tong Yuan (1909) was proclaimed as Hongqiao Town.
