What is the best material for high speed steel?

High-speed steel is divided into general-purpose high-speed steel and high-performance high-speed steel according to its performance; According to chemical composition, there are tungsten series, tungsten bond system and bond system high-speed bond; According to the process, there are melting high-speed steel and powder metallurgy high-speed steel; In order to improve the tool durability, there are high-performance high-speed steels, that is, carbon content and vanadium content are increased in general-purpose high-speed steels, and sometimes alloy elements such as cobalt and aluminum are added to improve their heat resistance and wear resistance. When the high-speed steel is heated to 600℃~650℃, the hardness of HRC60 can still be maintained. Its durability is about 1.5~3 times that of ordinary high-speed steel. Suitable for cutting austenitic stainless steel, high temperature alloy, titanium alloy, high strength steel and other difficult-to-machine materials.

(1) high-carbon high-speed steel: such as 95W 18Cr4V, 100W6Mo5Cr4V2. Increasing the carbon content of high speed steel can improve the hardness, wear resistance and heat resistance of steel. This kind of high-speed steel is suitable for reamers, countersinks, taps and drills with high wear resistance, and is used for cutting stainless steel, titanium alloys, etc. The wear resistance is 2~3 times higher than that of ordinary high-speed steel.

(2) Drilling high-speed steel: Adding cobalt into high-speed steel can significantly improve its thermal stability (645℃~650℃) and hardness (HRC67), and improve its thermal conductivity (20%~30%) and grindability. The brands of cobalt high-speed steel are: W6Mo5Cr4V2Co5, WBMo5Cr4V2Co6Si, W9Mo4Cr4V2Co3, W9Cr4V2Co 10, W 12Mo3Cr4V2Co8. Cobalt high-speed steel is mainly used for cutting nickel-based heat-resistant alloys and casting superalloys. The tool durability is 1.5~3 times that of W 18Cr4V.

(3) High-vanadium high-speed steel: The high-speed steel with vanadium content above 3% is called high-vanadium high zg70mn2mo cast steel roll heat treatment high-speed steel. Vanadium and carbon in steel form a large number of vanadium carbide. Vanadium carbide has high hardness (HV2800), which improves the hardness of high-speed steel (HRC65~67), and has good wear resistance and heat resistance, which is higher than that of ordinary high-speed steel (637℃-640℃). Mainly cutting fibers, hard rubber, plastics and other materials that have great wear on tools and stainless steel, heat-resistant alloy and high-strength steel. The main brands are: W 12Cr4V4Mo, W6Mo5Cr4V3, W9Cr4V5. Because of high vanadium content and poor grinding performance, it is not suitable for complex tools.

(4) Cobalt-containing high-vanadium high-speed steel: Adding a proper amount of cobalt to high-vanadium high-speed steel can combine the advantages of good wear resistance of high-vanadium high-speed steel and the high-temperature hardness of cobalt high-speed steel. Its hardness is HRC 66-68, and the hardness at 600℃ is HRC5.5 higher than that of general high-speed steel. The brands are: W9Cr4V5Co5, W 12Cr4V5Co5. This kind of high-speed steel is mainly suitable for cutting stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, nickel-based and cobalt-based superalloys and casting superalloys and other difficult-to-cut materials.

(5) Ultra-hard high-speed steel: High-speed steel with hardness of HRC67~70 is called ultra-hard high-speed steel. This kind of high-speed steel is mainly used for cutting refractory materials such as high-temperature alloy, refractory metal, titanium alloy, ultra-high strength steel and austenitic stainless steel. The brands are: W 10Mo4Cr4V3AI, W7 Tangshan Roller Foundry recruits Mo4Cr4V2Co5, W2Mo9Cr4VCo8(M42), W6Mo5Cr4V2AI(50 1), W 12Mo3Cr4V3N(V3N) and W/Kloc-.
