Many students will have similar doubts: It has been several days since the interview was completed and I have not received any feedback. Is this interview cool again? Then I start to wait anxiously in a long psychological drama, or I start to contact HR through various methods to ask directly. So what is the correct way to open up after an interview?
Here we will first explain a few issues. Generally speaking, recruitment is the part with the largest workload among the six major modules of HR. Especially when the recruitment season is approaching, every HR person responsible for recruitment is eager to have a strong head and six arms, but they still face the dilemma of insufficient time and crazy overtime work. In addition to processing hundreds of resumes every day, I also need to coordinate and attend multiple interviews, organize various meetings, and complete a large amount of paperwork. In situations like this, it's common for interview feedback to have a certain periodicity. In addition, in more cases, the opinions of business line interviewers, that is, the hiring department, will account for a very important proportion in the interview results. If more than one interviewer participates in the interview, it often takes more time to think and discuss to unify opinions. Therefore, due to various reasons, it is normal not to get feedback immediately after the interview.
So after understanding the possible reasons behind these, how should we deal with them so that we can get the feedback information we want more appropriately?
1. When to ask for interview feedback
First of all, the best solution must be to prepare in advance. Before the interview ends, you can politely ask the interviewer or HR for an approximate interview feedback time, and keep the communication channel open by asking for a business card and contact email. If there is a specific agreement on the feedback time and there is contact information, then after the agreed time arrives, you can smoothly make inquiries directly. ?
Secondly, if there is no specific interview feedback time agreed upon, then 3-5 working days after the interview is a suitable time to ask. It would not be rude to contact the channel that notified you of the interview during this time, and it would not be rude to politely ask for feedback on the interview. Too early may seem too extreme, too late may result in the loss of the best opportunity.
It should be noted that please be sure to make inquiries during working hours. If you choose the most suitable time period, it is more recommended to be between 14:30-17:00 pm from Tuesday to Thursday.
2. How to ask for interview feedback
If you choose the method of asking, the order is email, phone, WeChat or text message.
First of all, as the most formal method of work communication, email is of course the first choice for asking for interview feedback. Write clearly in the email who you are, when you participated in the interview for which position, and attach your resume so that the other party can match your information faster. In the title, you can name the email with your name Interview Follow-up to prevent the email from being classified as spam by the mailbox system.
Secondly, the phone can also be the most direct and quick way to get interview feedback. After politely greeting, immediately introduce yourself in one sentence and directly state the purpose of the call. If you don't get accurate feedback from the other party, don't keep asking, just politely express your gratitude.
When asking for interview feedback, the least recommended communication method is WeChat or SMS. Since WeChat is a relatively private communication channel, it is not recommended to be used in formal communication unless necessary. If you absolutely need to ask via WeChat, please use text. Please pay attention to your wording, be polite and concise, avoid being wordy, or use voice strips or emoticons.
