1. Master Xingkong, the Dharma Master of Hanshan Temple in Suzhou: Born on February 5, 1922. At the age of fourteen, he became a monk at Guanyin Temple in Jiangyan and became a monk under Master Jing'an. In 1941, after receiving full ordination at Nanchan Temple in Wuxi, he was admitted to Jiaoshan Buddhist College in Zhenjiang and studied under Renshan, Shoupei and Zhifeng. , Xuefang and other eminent monks; in 1962, Xingkong was invited by Abbot Mingkai of Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou to serve as a monk at Xiyuan Temple; in 1963, he was transferred to Hanshan Temple as a supervisor. During the Cultural Revolution, Xingkong used mud to paste the poetry steles of Yue Fei, Tang Yin, Wen Zhengming, Yu Yue and others in the stele gallery, then pasted them on paper with slogans written on them, and pasted them on the scripture cabinet filled with Buddhist scriptures. He went up to the statue of the great man and secretly hid the five hundred Arhats in the secret room so that the Buddhist treasures in the temple would not be damaged. In 1968, Xingkong was forced to return to secular life. In the autumn of 1978, Xingkong was invited to return to Hanshan Temple. In the autumn of 1984, Xingkong succeeded as abbot of Hanshan Temple. After years of hard work and painstaking management, Hanshan Temple has made remarkable achievements in the restoration of temples, the restoration of Buddhist statues, the protection of cultural relics, the restoration of the jungle system, and the cultivation of sangha talents. In August 2002, Hanshan Temple held a grand ceremony to celebrate the elevation of Monk Xingkong to the Dharma Master Monk of Hanshan Temple and Master Qiu Shuang to the abbot of Hanshan Temple.
