This is my first time to participate in an activity to discuss education. I want to tell you first that Taiwan Province Province is already the third largest research base of Google in the world and the largest in Asia. There are nearly 3,000 people in Google in Taiwan Province Province, and everyone plays a very important role. So before we begin, I want everyone to have confidence in the education in Taiwan Province Province. Without such an educational foundation, there would not be so many important talents. More importantly, they are participating in and influencing the development of the world.

My personal job is actually very lucky, and I can say that I participated in the education of scientific and technological elites. I am the first employee of Google in Taiwan Province Province. Before that, I did 13 research in Academia Sinica and top scientists in Taiwan Province Province. During this period, I taught in Taiwan Province Provincial University for five years. I helped set up Microsoft Research Institute in Beijing for four years, and I worked with about 1000 top so-called geniuses in China. Colleagues 12 years old went to college, even 18.

After these experiences, I am now in the Google environment with the smartest children from all over the world. However, in Google, education is not too important. For example, as the top supervisor of Android phones, he just graduated from high school. And my boss, who designed Linux, never went to college. It's not that college education is not important, but that these people know what they want to do at an early age, have the environment and ability to learn, and don't make mistakes! Those who can't go to college must have these conditions, which is rare.

In Taiwan Province Province, about 75% of students can go to university, while in the United States, about half of them can go to university, while in Germany, only about 65,438+00% can go to university. This is the difference in educational methods, because Germany attaches more importance to technical and vocational education. The change from 30% to 70% in the enrollment rate of universities in Taiwan Province Province is the wealth of Taiwan Province Province, but it is also a challenge.

There are few LinkedIn personal pages for talents in Taiwan Province Province, so we are rarely seen internationally, which is also a big problem.

But the most amazing changes can be obtained from Airbnb. Airbnb is a travel website, providing hotel information from all over the world, but most importantly, its market value is estimated to be higher than that of Grand Hyatt (Grand Hyatt Hotel Group), which has seven-star hotels in all beautiful places in the world. Digital assets are actually more valuable than physical assets. What's going on here?

The most important thing is that technology has changed the world. Just like from the perspective of Taiwan Province Province, you will feel that Africa is far away and many places are still developing. However, many recent winners of international science exhibitions are African children, so we can no longer treat them with traditional ideas. Just like many fast-developing countries in Southeast Asia and South Asia, they need to see it again every three years with different eyes, but many countries, including countries in Europe and countries with a long history in Asia, only need to see it once every 30 years.
