What is a mechanic?

Auto mechanic refers to an intermediate auto mechanic who can use tools, fixtures, measuring tools, instruments and maintenance equipment to maintain, repair and debug cars (national vocational qualification level 4).

Simply put, a workshop worker who has obtained professional qualification certification, correct operation specifications, can assist workers in vehicle overhaul and has basic fault analysis ability.

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Textbook Office, Shanghai Branch of China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center and Shanghai Vocational Training Research and Development Center organized the compilation of "Vocational Qualification Training Textbook for Automobile Maintenance Workers (Intermediate 1+x)", which was compiled by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security Textbook Office, Shanghai Branch of China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center and Shanghai Vocational Training Research and Development Center according to Shanghai 1+X Vocational Skills Appraisal Rules for Automobile Maintenance Workers (Grade IV).

From the perspective of strengthening the cultivation of operation skills and mastering practical technology, the teaching materials better reflect the latest practical knowledge and operation technology, and have direct help and guidance for improving the basic quality of employees and mastering the core knowledge and skills of intermediate automobile maintenance workers.

"Automobile Maintenance Workers (Intermediate 1+X Vocational and Technical Qualification Training Textbook)" is written in a modular way based on the job characteristics of the profession and the basic starting point of ability training. The book is divided into four chapters, including: basic knowledge of automobile maintenance, basic working principle and maintenance of automobile engine, basic working principle and maintenance of automobile chassis, and secondary maintenance of automobile.
