The Central Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe was established in September 1952. It is the only national-level ethnic minority art performance group in China. The successive leaders are: Fei Xiaotong, Wu Xiaobang, Bian Jun, Liu Tieshan, Jiang Dawei, Fu Shengsong, and the current leaders are Huang Yaoping and Ding Wei1. With the purpose of inheriting, prospering and developing the culture and art of ethnic minorities, the Central Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe has traveled all over the country and every village, dedicating colorful culture and art to the people of all ethnic groups, and has been loved by people of all ethnic groups.
