The modern Weiyuan R&D Center is located in Shijiazhuang High-tech Development Zone. This is a quasi-national R&D center with three branches: bioengineering, chemical synthesis and pharmaceutical preparations. There are more than 30 international laboratories in microbiology, biosynthesis, chemical synthesis and pharmaceutical preparations. It has international-level instruments and equipment such as chromatography, gas chromatography, infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and stability experiments.

There are 56 senior engineers and technicians in Weiyuan R&D Center, including 4 postdoctoral fellows and 8 masters/kloc-0, forming a "1+2+4" R&D team structure.

In order to enhance the development potential of the enterprise, the company invested heavily in technological innovation and new product research and development. Weiyuan Pharmaceutical has cooperated with China Agricultural University for many times to undertake national scientific research projects, among which the April project was listed as the key project of the National Science and Technology Support Plan in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The company has successively undertaken the national torch plan project, the provincial science and technology research plan project, the municipal major science and technology support and other projects, which enabled the company to occupy the commanding heights of the new technology of veterinary drugs. In addition, the company has also carried out extensive cooperation and exchanges with domestic and foreign scientific research institutions such as Tsinghua University, Huazhong Agricultural University, the United States, South Korea, Singapore, etc., and carried out the cooperative development of national first-class and second-class new veterinary drugs, realizing that the company's technology research and development projects and research and development level are in line with international standards and synchronized with the world.

In 2008, Weiyuan Investment Upgrade Center became a national quasi-laboratory and a provincial excellent technical center. In 2009, the GMP pilot workshop with an investment of 30 million yuan was successfully completed and put into operation. So far, Weiyuan has formed a "closed" R&D system with international advanced level of "pilot-pilot-base production".

In 2009, Weiyuan Pharmaceutical Veterinary Drug Project was listed as a special project by the National Development and Reform Commission, and was supported by special funds from the state, becoming the only selected enterprise in the veterinary drug industry that year.
