East-West Computing+Huawei Meeting Minutes 2204 13

National strategic layout+Huawei strategic layout:

Huawei, Ali, Tencent and other data centers have serious problems, and the data computing power does not match well with the server. For data computing power, the more servers, the better. However, there are some problems in Ethernet, such as packet loss and computing power loss.

Huawei studied the problem of avoiding packet loss and considered using private network, but the cost of private network is higher than Ethernet, so the research focus shifted to how to upgrade the operation on Ethernet to meet the demand. The research began ten years ago.

Due to the problem of computing power, the power consumption in developed areas is too large and the demand is too large to be released. It is planned to introduce relevant data into the western region for calculation and storage through the network through Oriental Digital Computing, and Huawei's cooperation is also in line with this national policy.

Huawei's product line also provides data center infrastructure support. Such as UPS, precision air conditioning, data communication, network transmission, video and Huawei Cloud. Huawei Cloud deploys the backbone from the product line to form Huawei cloud hardware architecture, and cloud architects and supporting upper layers form relevant support teams to support the whole business.

At present, the progress of Huawei's East-West computing:

In the 10 cluster of eight national hubs,

One south and one north, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao are key deployment areas; Chengdu-Chongqing-Gansu-Ningxia strategy is the second step.

The most important thing in Wulanchabu, Gui 'an

Gui 'an: The single cabinet of high-density data center is 20kwh, and the normal density 10- 15kwh is less than 80%; The government's requirements are low, only within 10kwh; Gui 'an is the main business center, with 6,543,800 racks planned. 2654.38+0, 200,000 sets have been put into use in the first phase, and the turnover in the second and third phases has increased to about 300,000 sets each.

Inner Mongolia: The medium density is mainly 10- 15kwh, and the data transmission will be a little worse than that in Gui 'an.

Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao: It is mainly to build data centers of corresponding government lines and plan cities around the main city.

Construction mode: the self-built part accounts for 60% of the data center, and the joint construction with the government requires the upper level and confidentiality to be managed by the local government, so Huawei only accounts for 60%. For the joint construction with the government, the government will bear 400,000 of the 1 10,000 racks, and the first phase of 20% of the 40,000 racks will be jointly built by the government. Look at the overall strategic deployment later, mainly responsible for helping with preparation and overall design; The self-built part is based on business line layout, such as CBG SAAS software platform, own IP process, public cloud, etc.

Timeline: The second phase starts this year, and the third phase lasts about 23 years.

Supplier:

Kohler diesel engine

Precision air conditioning: There is a partner, Shen Ling Environment, Midea's agent water machine.

Refrigeration terminal: Huawei designed it, and then Wu Hai and Invik did it as required.

Switches and transmission equipment: Huawei's main channel products, mainly produced by itself.

Servers and chips used by servers: After IT business goes out, we will develop 28 nm technology for experiments and practical use, study the server model and architecture for personal use, and test the security and reliability requirements.

Distribution of computing power for east-west computing;

Mainly with the three major operators, they have their own cloud and Ethernet access infrastructure transformation. Two projects, one is the construction of 5G network project, and the other is the corresponding all-optical network transformation.

In the aspect of intelligent computing power allocation, the loss of computing power caused by the mismatch between cloud and communication network is solved, and Ethernet is improved accordingly. Using the new algorithm to solve the deployment problem does not increase the additional cost on the basis of the current Ethernet, but compared with the private network, the performance is improved by 17%. That is to help the three major operators do Ethernet transformation work.

The self-built data center also has its own outsourcing support team and has a strong cooperative relationship with Huawei. If the government or customers have needs based on the business level, they will also provide operating plans. If the customer specifies, they will use the outsourcing team specified by the customer. If customers don't ask for it, they will find their own team and use Huitong's outsourcing team.

Downstream partners:

Government and enterprise business: public security law, education, medical care; Three major operators: put part of their business in Huawei's data center; Huawei Cloud's partner: the platform of the data center is not involved in the business level, and other industries such as petrochemical finance have their own business platforms, which are used according to customer requirements.

The commission for business services is 1: 9 or 2: 8, which is shared with partners. Huawei has nearly 30,000 partners around the world.

In Gui 'an, Linger and other areas, the scale of self-built data centers is 654.38+10,000 cabinets, and it takes 654.38+10,000 servers to form a large-scale computing capacity. Before 2025, the layout of computing power is mainly in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, Guizhou and Inner Mongolia. This year, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao have made great moves, and the second phase of Guizhou has also started. Chengdu and Chongqing are still in contact with the government in the next stage.

Guizhou and Inner Mongolia are the largest storage centers, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao are the largest data processing centers. These three areas are important to us, especially gas stations, which are non-renewable.

Data rooms are all started at 654.38+10,000 yuan, with at least 20,000 sets. Specifically, it is necessary to talk to the local government and evaluate their local system power layout needs and customer needs.

Other businesses of Huawei:

The first battlefield is operators, and the second battlefield is CBG. Photovoltaic energy storage business is Huawei's third battlefield, and it also meets the demand of double carbon. At the same time, Huawei's in-vehicle drive includes power system and intelligent AI, and digital energy is responsible for automobile power.

2 1 year is the first year of energy storage. Huawei's performance in digital energy is under great pressure, and the prices of photovoltaic and lithium batteries are unfavorable. However, the company's requirements are large, so it is promising to store 10- 15g watts, but it is difficult to photovoltaic 80g watts. Foreign customers include: the Middle East and Africa along the Belt and Road; European light storage and flushing integration project; Japan is doing hundreds of megabytes of energy storage projects, but it is a little late compared with Tesla and is currently competing for the mainstream energy storage market in Japan.

Ask and answer. A

Q: What is the situation in Gui 'an and Wulanchabu PUE?

A: Guizhou PUE 1. 1 is called 1.08, but it should be exaggerated in the company. Energy consumption is related to the seasonal environment, but it can be1.1; 1. 1 It is still possible to call it the north, and the natural cooling utilization in the north is better.

Q: The key is Huawei's energy-saving measures. What are they?

A: Natural cooling and self-circulation system. With this system, when the temperature and humidity meet the demand, the compressor and related facilities are turned off, and then cooled by natural energy into the room to provide indoor functions. Inner Mongolia can do this for two-thirds of the year. Through the algorithm to control the corresponding equipment to switch between external cooling and machine cycle, if there is no algorithm system, the energy consumption will go up a little, and the algorithm system will learn and adjust itself.

Q: Does Huawei cooperate with other brands in indirect spontaneous heat dissipation?

A: It is similar to its technology, but Huawei has corresponding requirements and innovations, that is, customization. Huawei logo will be used after customization. It is equivalent to contracting several production lines of partners and customizing our products according to process guidance and requirements.

Q: Make sure that the refrigeration is Wu Hai and Invik? Where is it used?

A: There is no clear geographical requirement for procurement and sales, and it can be used anywhere; Unless customers have requirements, they will not choose brands. In fact, all products are Huawei brands in our hands and then in the hands of customers.

Q: What are the layout and division strategies of Gui 'an and Wulanchabu?

A: First, consider real-time and frequency. As a data storage center, the usage is not large, and the medium-density data center is the best, with more power saving and less energy consumption on average, and there is no big restriction on location. Inner Mongolia is a relatively large area within the area designated by the state. Gui 'an is closer to Huawei headquarters and Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao. Huawei has the best business volume in East China and Central China, plus 52% business volume in Beijing. Data centers and standby data centers should be as close as possible to these areas. Gui 'an is a double backup, and the backup and storage of business data center are mainly placed in Gui 'an, including secondary data storage and mapping of frequent data services. Once the data of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, the Yangtze River Delta and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei have problems, resulting in business paralysis, Gui 'an will keep up, so it requires higher data center layout. Gui 'an, as a dual-active system and backup data center, is close to the center. At the same time, in order to match the corresponding data to the maximum, it is more convenient to store important data centrally when calling, which can be understood as a dual-core active system on hardware. The other also considers the network. The network in the south is much better than that in the north. Even if Inner Mongolia cooperates with the three major operators, the cost of Ethernet transformation is higher than that in the south. Therefore, first of all, we should comprehensively consider ensuring the uninterrupted and stable business.
