Want to work as an office clerk in an insurance company, but don’t know how? No business, just back office?
Haha, I can only tell you that it is very, very difficult.
I graduated from college in 2008. My hometown is near Suzhou. I applied for jobs at N insurance companies. I also hoped to work as an in-house clerk and not go out to do business, but no company really gave me a back-office position. In the end, he was tricked into a life insurance company headquartered in Zhejiang, a history of blood and tears.
There are not many back-office positions within insurance companies, especially in branches. Strictly speaking, back office is not the name of a certain position, but a general term for a large category of positions corresponding to field service. As long as they don't do business and don't rely on sales performance for a living, they can be counted as back-office employees.
Back office can be divided into two categories. The threshold for the first type is relatively low, such as administrative clerks. This type of back-office staff is rarely recruited externally, and is usually digested internally or given to related parties. This was the case in the company I worked for. There was an administrative clerk. The vacancy for clerks was first given to the daughter of a sales director, and then to the niece of another sales director after the person resigned. In short, it is very difficult to get this type of back office position unless you have some connections, because the threshold is low and anyone can apply. So why use outsiders?
The other type of internal support threshold is relatively high, the typical one is group training. This type of back office requires relatively rich practical experience and considerable theoretical literacy. In other words, if you want to do this type of back office well, you must have sufficient performance to support it. Therefore, this type of back office staff is mostly formed by the transfer of field staff with excellent performance. I have seen such examples before. The company I used to work in was divided into three marketing headquarters. Headquarter 2 needed a training assistant (not the training itself). There was one person who coveted this position and asked many people in the department to offer him permission. In the end, most of them As long as the salesmen in each department had orders, they would put them under his name. With such strong performance, he finally got the position of training assistant.
Therefore, back-office positions within insurance companies are very few and difficult to obtain. Especially for a newcomer like you who has neither background nor performance, if you go to an insurance company and want to work as an office clerk, you cannot say that it is 100% hopeless, but the hope is indeed too small.
If you see job advertisements all looking for business, then you are lucky. When I was looking for a job, I saw recruitment advertisements from insurance companies all over the street, but none of them were looking for salespeople. They were all looking for back-office employees. If you need it, it is not difficult to find advertisements for internal staff recruitment now. But those advertisements are too watery. In jargon, they are called "recruitment tactics." Nowadays, insurance companies know that people are not willing to work as salesmen to sell insurance, so they generally don’t mention recruiting salesmen when recruiting. The advertisements are usually very tempting. As for the names, there are all kinds of names, such as back office, lecturer, reserve cadre, management There are many elites. But after going there, the final outcome will be the life of the salesman. If applicants ask, the common answer is "You can only do back office work if you perform well." So what does good performance mean? Go get insurance.
The biggest difference between internal and external services is the contract signed. The formal internal staff sign a labor contract and establish a legally recognized labor relationship with the insurance company. The salary is relatively stable and basic social security is provided; the external staff sign an agency agreement and there is no legal labor relationship with the insurance company. , and there is only a principal-agent relationship. Since there is no labor relationship, wages and social security are out of the question. We can only rely on insurance sales to get some commissions. This is the most fundamental difference between internal and external services.
Of course, there is now a so-called back office staff that is not on staff. This kind of back office actually performs back office work as a field office. In essence, it is a private assistant hired by some managers within the insurance company, and there is still no labor relationship with the insurance company. My former director once said that he wanted to use me as his back office, which was of such a nature that it would cost 800 yuan a month, plus 50 yuan for communication fees, but there would be no social security. Instead of me going out to make insurance policies (of course it is better to have insurance policies), he said that he would place some small orders in my name to help me cope with the assessment. Of course, the commission would still be his. It's just that such a position didn't come to me in the end, and was given to a girl who came in later than me but was quite beautiful. I think everyone knows the reason.
So, if you want to work as a stable back-office clerk in an insurance company, from my personal experience, it’s very difficult!
