Generally speaking, Yang Kang Vocational College in Guiyang, Guizhou Province is a full-time public undergraduate vocational school approved by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Guizhou Province. It is the first batch of high-level vocational school project construction units in Guizhou Province, and the chairman unit of Yang Kang Demonstration Vocational Education Group in Guizhou Province.

Yang Kang Vocational College was born in June 1939, formerly known as Guizhou Medical Vocational School. In August, 194 1 was renamed Guiyang Higher Medical Vocational School in Guizhou Province. 1950, renamed Guizhou Health School.

196 1 September, named Guiyang Health School. In June 2006, it was upgraded to Guiyang Nursing Vocational College. 202 1 Guiyang Vocational College of Nursing merged with Qiushi College of Guizhou Normal University and was transformed into Guiyang Yang Kang Vocational College.

As of March 2023, the school covers an area of about 985 mu, with a collection of10.4 million books; Teaching institutions 14, directly affiliated hospitals 1 (Guiyang First People's Hospital), undergraduate majors 2 1, and 22 higher vocational majors.
